izh 35m slam bams
my izh35m shoots in bursts with all ammo except for magtech hv with this it shoots great the extracted shells have bulging marks close to rims.i have taking gun to gun smith he filed sear a bit no difference.took it to another gunsmith shortened recoil spring again magtechs no problem other ammo cci and lapua slam bams
gfrad,
I would advise you not to use the Magtech, especially the HV. A couple of years ago I bought some Magtech Standard Velocity and immediately noticed the bulging you mention. Then one of the rounds burst in the gun. I thought (foolishly!) it was not likely to happen again, but it did! Twice within the first 300 rounds, in a gun that had previously shown no problems through thousands of rounds. I believe the Magtech .22 brass is just very weak. Get the IZH problem fixed properly (it's probably headspace).

Just about all you'll ever need to know is here -

Elsewhere there have been a few articles about
1. filing the sharp angle off the firing pin and
2. slam fires due to soft slides peening and reducing headspace.
Good luck.

I'd add a bit more sear engagement if I were you first and really clean up the chamber /throat area of any lead or lube deposit. Then see if there are peened areas ion the bolt face on rim cutout and extractor slot. Make sure the extractor is free to move our and over the rim.
Try it with cheaper Euro ammo first, Club or practice grade.
Those rubber washer pictures are mine . they need and explanation.
Peening was very bad on mine and I had to remove a fair amount of metal.
The rubber replaces some of the lost metal head space and cushions the slide. The thickness has to be matched to the pistols requirements.
