1811 stock offhand?

Should I try and adapt to my 1811 stock for some offhand or search
out a better tool?

I did that once and it worked ok. The trouble I found with the prone stock is that it is too long and really needs a pull length adjustable butt. I made a setup that worked but really I think if I had to do it again I'd look for a free rifle stock and trade my prone stock off to a prone shooter.
