Hi. I just got a Scatt system at Camp Perry. It will not work with Vista operating system. Has anyone encounter this problem and has been able to fix it. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Have you downloaded the latest software release, 5.64 dated 20 Mar 2009? If not, you can obtain it at:

http://www.scatt.com/software.htm

There is also a USB Devices testing tool on the download page that you might find useful.

Good luck!

Please post a followup if/when you resolve the issue. I have Vista and am thinking of a Scatt.

Well here is my thought...
I am not a Scatt owner but I am an IT administrator and deal with Vista.
you have a few options run on it on Vista or pickup a cheap older computer to just run scatt.
there are many cheap computers around.
if you need to run on vista I would try fully uninstalling it and reloading with the latest version.
Most Vista's bad press is because the software is not vista compatable.

I would go with the dedicated computer myself.
look in the want ad's.

The SCATT will run on the 32 bit Vista, but will not run on a 64 bit system. Now the question also becomes will it run on Windows 7

The latest version of Scatt software definitely runs with Vista.

It seams that the new version of Scatt will load but it still not run the USB
connected devises. It will not recognise the Scatt hardwear.

Downloadable from http://www.scatt.com/support.htm

Check to see if you are running a 32 bit or 64 bit system. the 64 Bit Vista will load and will open existing files, but does not reckognize the hardware. I asked the SCATT people about the 64 bit and was told will not work. even with the latest of everything. 32 bit systems have no problem. To check right click the computer icon on the desktop and click properties it will show if have a 32 or 64 bit sytem

I have tryed all of the fixes, and indeed my system is a 64 bit Vista. I will try to find a fix on the internet or maybe Windows. If I find a cure I'll
post it on the forum.

Thanks everyone.

Reading the above, it won't work. It appears it only works on 32 bit vista - try contacting scatt direct via their website and see what they say.

Scatt compatibility with Vista.

I e-mailed Scatt with my question, and week later no answer. The problem
was fixed by returning my new computer and exchanging it with a 32 Bit
Vista system. Life is good.
Thanks.
