Noise level of Morini vs. Steyr

Post by PhilipM »

I'm looking to buy a new air pistol for 10 meter shooting in my house. Therefore the noise level is one of the issues I need to consider.
I'm considering the Morini CM 162 EI, the Steyr LP10 and Steyr LP10E. Which one of these pistols would be the quitest ?
The Morini CM 162 EI has a muzzle compensator which may give reduced noise levels but the upcoming Steyr LP10E with its new 8 duct compensator seems also a good contender in the noise area.
Any advice in this is much appreciated.

I'd speculate that the V0 you'd be shooting is far more significant than the type of pistol. Lower speed = lower noise level.

The compensator will make it louder not quieter. if you want it to be quiet use some phone bokks stacked up as a back stop and if you can hang something from the roof then get some fibre bats and hang down near the muzzle and it will absorb a lot of the noise

Usually, the sound of the pellet hitting the trap is the loudest part of shooting. Unless you shoot into a silent trap of some type.
