Junior/Ladies Air Pistol

Post by 220 »

Wife would like a new air pistol and with a 11 year old son starting pistol shooting soon we have been looking at compact/short versions.
The Steyr LP2 compact and Morini 162 short with either electronic or machanical trigger are available and similarly priced. Are there any other similar quality air pistols available in a compact version?
Wife has tried a couple of morinis and loves the electonic trigger and finds the small grip fits well out of the box but hasn't had the chance to try a LP2.
What do you think?

If you're in the US, this may be of use:
Morini 162ei Compact from Pilkington, our host - $1675
Steyr LP2 Compact special (1 cylinder) from Pilkington - $1450
Pardini K2s Junior from Larry Carter, the guy in Maine - $1577
Benelli Kite Young (also 1 cylinder) from Larry - $969.

The others would have to guarantee an awful lot of additional 10's (which they can't) over the Kite to justify the extra dollars. The almost $500 difference between it and the Steyr translates into a big supply of pellets or some pretty good coaching.

And don't worry about only 1 cylinder. I've shot the CAGP - 2 60-shot matches, sighters and a practice session on 1 fill.

Thanks I'm in Aus but it is nice to know when you factor in the exchange rate the prices are similar to Aus.
We will have to look at the Pardini K2. One cylinder doesn't worry me, I only have one for my air pistol and it isn't a problem. I have seen dealers advertising air guns at a reduced price if you ellect to take only one cylinder.

Maybe not entirely same league, but VERY accurate (as accurate as the Walther LP300!): the Tau 7 junior. Lóvely pistols.
Tau themselves were impressed with the íncrease in accuracy while shortening the barrel!
