Does LP50 have velocity adjustment?

Post by melchloboo »

Does the LP50 have a velocity/power adjustment screw somewhere?
The copy of the manual I have does not indicate as such.

Someone at the club had a chrono, if I remember mine was shooting about 480fps. Someone suggested going up to 500fps, but I'm not sure how to do that.

Thanks

OK, I found this old thread:
http://www.targettalk.org/viewtopic.php ... w=previous

So I am not going to mess with it. I am getting some ragged holes but probably the pellets or the cheap (thick) targets I'm using.

But I would like to know which screw it is for my own knowledge, the "hammer spring" or "velocity screw" or whatever it is...its not clear from the manual alone?

Also, I was using .53g pellets. Is there a "rule of thumb" or can someone make a reasonable guestimate at what my fps would be with .50g or .45g pellets? And generally the faster the pellet, the lighter the pellet, and the cleaner the hole?

Thanks!

If you're using those crap American targets you can try this: put another target behind the one you're shooting. You'll get a much cleaner hole without tearing. I think it stiffens the whole target so that even if the rear target is shot away in the center it will continue to work.

You can also look at the rear target to determine if you're well sighted in.

I like to change the rear target after about 30 shots. I just use the sighter targets from the start of the match.

About a half hour ago I was practicing and switched from 6.9gr Hobby pellets to 8.2gr Meisterkugeln Rifle on the same target with no change in the hole or point of impact, but they were Cible targets.

My ssp does about 480 with light pellets, but my CO2 gun (unknown velocity) cuts cleaner holes. So go ahead and jack up yours and see if you like the results.
