FWB 601 Trigger

Post by Misny »

I am new at air rifle. I have a used FWB 601. I haven't shot any other match air rifles. My question is that once I take up the weight of the first stage (or slack) the trigger remains in that (rearward) position. To get the trigger to reset, I must open the loading gate. Is this normal, or do I need to readjust the trigger or get the gun repaired?

On my FWB 601, the trigger will spring back to its normal position when pressure is released, before the rifle fires. The trigger mechanism on your rifle most likely needs to be adjusted correctly. The www.feinwerkbau.com website [English version] has the model 600/601 instruction manual in pdf format.

There is a tiny lttle return spring that may have come un hooked or missing completely on the first stage sear. Remove stock and its easy to see. Or, the previous owner has unscrewed the adjuster screw so far the spring is no longer under pressure.

Thanks for the replies. I didn't think that this was normal, but this confirms it. I only have two more local matches until the season is over. As the gun is functioning the way it is, I'll dig into the problem in a few weeks, after the season is over. Thanks to you, I'm armed with good information. If I can't fix it, then I'll send it off to pilkguns.
