I recently purchased an Anschutz 2002 and wonder if anyone out there has found reliable match pellets that work well with the 2002 ?

I used FN Fianle Match. The 2002 was the best air rifle I ever shot.

I used to shoot with 2002 between years 2002-2004. The pellets i used were Dynamit Nobels R10(The yellow box), Frankonja and Diabolo Sport. The best i used were R10 and i was also satisfied with Finale Match...

About Anschütz 2002, very reliable, very accurate (especially rearsight was so precise) best balanced i've ever used. But it has a very interesting trigger shoe (like a spagetti:)) and very sophisticated design of the trigger mechanism. Also, setting the trigger is harder than any rifle such that one setting cannot be done with one screw, one setting is a combination of some 2 or 3 screws. Although i didn't like the trigger at all, i must say it has the shortest lock time, this is a great advantage in air rifle events...

Good Shooting with your rifle...

All rifles are individuals and you need to test your rifle to see what pellets it prefers.

But I've tested probably 5 or 6 2002's for kids in our club and If I recall correctly all of them preferred some size of RWS R10 heavy the best.

Which Pellets for 2002

Post by Tolkach »

TWP posted a fairly comprehensive bench test using various pellets on a 2002. We're using R-10 Heavy 4.50 with our 9003 -- scores still aren't high enough for the pellet to matter, but it's nice to know that the pellets are consistent & variations probably aren't because of pellets.

While composing this, I found a copy of TWP's test target. All groups are 5 SHOTS UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE. Hope it helps.

The 2002 that my daughter uses like 4.50 pellets the best and shoots very well with R10s.

We also got a batch of Scott's Vogel USA pellets a while back (the ones he makes) in 4.50 and they shot as well or better than the R10s. Very, very nice one hole groups
