International style pistol match in western Pennsylvania

Post by Randy »

We are trying to gauge the interest in international pistol matchs in PA. If there is any interest, we would offer them on a regular basis. Our range is in Mountaindale (about 20 miles North of Altoona). It is a small indoor range with turning targets. We could do free, air, standard and center fire but probably not rapid. I am interested to hear your feedback in two ways: would you possibly attend and, if yes, what events would you prefer? We will probably shoot under NRA international rules as we got a response from them but not USA shooting as of yet. We could do an approved/registered match as early as Jan 2009 and, if there is interest, a sectional in maybe April 2009. Thanks and looking forward to your input.

You could probably get a couple of guys from a small group of shooters near Pittsburgh.

I'd be interested.

I'm interested. I shoot free and air. I just bought a standard pistol, but I'm not ready to shoot a match with it. I would think three guns would draw a bigger crowd.
I'm glad to hear you are going to run some matches and hope you get an indoor state match going.
Good luck!

I just received a very nice email from USA Shooting. They are being extremely helpful getting us started. I wanted everyone to know how helpful the good folks of USA Shooting were and thanks to everyone who has responded. Please keep it up as we need to know what you folks want.
