Re: TOZ 35 Trigger Rod Question

It is quite normal, and can be tightened.

Some people prefer to leave it hand tight, so that it can be turned slightly.

YMMV.

Re: Any reason Tanner rifles are not more popular?

If you are going to rebarrel from 7.5x55 Swiss, to something else, be mindful of the cartridge rim diameter of .496". It's not a commonly used size (.308 family of cartridges uses .473", while 6.5x55 uses .478").

Re: Blaser 300M Rifles

I looked at that same rifle on GB.

I previously owned several K31's chambered in 7.5x55. You are correct in that it would 'take some of the fun out' of shooting it. Component availability would be my most serious concern right now.

Re: Upgrade my rifle or switch

Ulf - I too shoot an FWB 2700 Alu, and 15 years later, it still out shoots me, when clean. My advice is to go inexpensive, first, and purchase a Teslong borescope from Amazon. They are in the $50 USD range, so not overly expensive. they plug into any USB port, and most mobile devices accomodate them...

Re: Hand on grip

Hi all, While watching YouTube videos of air rifle competitions, some of the competitors do all the loading and stuff with their left hand while the right hand stayed on the grip. Some did not, having to regrip for each shot. Is there an advantage to doing it either way? I load with the left, so th...

Re: rifle fit for smallbore prone shooting

If you can get into position with the rifle before purchase, or agree a trial period if you're buying by post. In terms of stock fit, the butt should be long enough that your trigger arm/shoulder aren't cramped. It's a good sign if your wrist is straight, or as straight as the shape of the grip all...

Re: TSA and Firearms at Colorado Springs Airport

The last time I flew with a firearm, was the last time I will fly with a firearm.

The TSA on my end, at Dulles Int'l in VA. caused pure havoc for me. I actually had less trouble on the return flight from Ontario, Ca. checking in with a smallbore and a match rifle.

Re: UPS STORES - Disappointing - NOT SHOOTING FRIENDLY

UPS stores= independent contractors. They decide the rules. UPS hubs= UPS decides the rules. They will require an FFL for the receiver, to ship firearms. Air pistols in the US= Go to your local post office, declare the item, and follow the rules as set forth. Much less expensive than UPS in most ci...

Re: 11mm Dovetail to Picatinny Adaptor

I too searched for scope mounting solutions when beginning. I abandoned the idea of a picatinny rail, or quick release rails in general. Many of us favor the use of the Anschutz Sight Rail, or 'ASR', coupled with a set of dedicated 11mm rings, often advertised as 'CZ' rings. The end result is the sa...

Re: Single or two stage triggers

My initial preference was for a two stage trigger. As I got better, I grew to appreciate a very light single stage trigger. The slight change in geometry, when pulling through the first stage, makes getting the finger in a consistent spot somewhat difficult. With a very light single stage, I've foun...

Re: Geko and SK "Match" .22 Ammo

I use SK Standard for smallbore rifle practice; it is mostly consistent from lot to lot. I tried Geco Match about three years ago. It was not what I'd consider consistent, from box to box. Once I burned up the three bricks, I re-ordered my normal SK. This was all used in a rifle - if you're using it...

Re: Extension tubes and sight plane at 25 yards

Just a few things to consider, if you're thinking about adding a sight extension tube: Increasing your sight radius, will make your rear sight clicks finer - if you're shooting a 1/4 minute sight, you can go down to a 1/5 minute (or more). If you increase the length enough, you can also change your ...

Re: RPA Trakker Precision Engineering

Both models that I have seen were also service rifle direction - that is, turning the elevation knob clockwise raises the bullet impact. Turning the windage knob clockwise, moved the bullet impact to the right. If you're considering buying one, it would be wise to ask the owner which direction they ...

I'm not sure if they're similar or not in this respect,
but I use a MEC buttplate on my Tikka T3. It was a direct swap for the standard factory black marshmallow butt-pad that came attached to the rifle.
