Re: FWB 65/80 Case
I would second the Harbor Freight case. Works great. I got and then went to mycasebuilder.com and designed the foam for my FWB Mod 2. made place for pellet box, extra tube and other accessories. Worked awesomely. I pitched that tool holder in the top and just made to bottom foam thicker to fill the ...

Re: SSP vs. CO2
I tend to agree with the OP. I started much the same way. Daisy 747, way TOO heavy. Then got the IZH. Great pistol loved shooting it. But noticed it tended to be a bit front heavy after shooting while. Got the opportunity for a FWB Model 2. Wow, what a difference. So much more fun to shoot. There re...

Re: 'Pain in the neck'
You may just want to check your position. Or have someone knowledgeable help you get into position to verify everything is good. I am much younger, but when I was shooting Highpower (around 40), some matches I had neck pain and others I didn't. Also, my sitting scores were higher than prone. I went ...

Re: Pumping technique for an Advanti 853 while prone w/ slin
As far as the movement, I too experienced this and found it very disconcerting. Looking into it a little, I believe the movement is caused by the relaxing of the piston and cylinder when the pressure is released. There is a natural flexing of the thin cylinder wall when put under pressure (stress). ...

Re: long eye relief scope
You may want to try to discuss with some of the IHMSA guys. They shoot creedmoor most of the time. Some of the shooters at the local club use scopes. I never really talked to them to find out what kind they use. I am sure you are not the only one out there.
Enjoy.
Enjoy.

Re: Ssp or pcp
I have to agree with Rover. Don't discount the idea of going to CO2. I used to shoot an IZH and found it top/front heavy. Fortunately someone contacted me about wanting to get rid of an air pistol. It was a FWB Mod 2. Wow, what a deal. They even included the CO2 tank. I haven't regretted the decisio...

Re: "Decent" air pistol (Daisy 747) for small shooter?
There is currently a Tau 7 on the Buy, Sell, Trade board. I think it is priced at $300. Probably a good deal. In addition to the 12gram cylinders, you can also bulk fill it for a few more shots, and it is a little cheaper to shoot that way. Good pistol, but not sure about finding Left Hand grips. En...

For what its worth... I have tried some different pellets in Daisy 747 and Izzy. The 747 really liked the Daisy Precision Max 7.7 gr pellets they used to sell. Can't find them anymore. Tried some crossman Competition 7.4 gr, Beeman Model 1220 8.0 gr., RWS Basic 7.0 gr, Hobby 7.0 gr, Meisterkugeln 7....

BountyBuddy, If you are looking at the Daisy 717, I would really suggest going up a notch to the 747. The barrel is better, and from what I remember, the trigger is better. Otherwise they are pretty much the same. If you are looking at air pistol competition though, you would be better going with th...

FWB Mod 2 Left Handed grips
Anyone know where I could find Left hand grips for a FWB Model 2? I have an opportunity to purchase one, but it has right hand grips. Don't want to spend the money only to find I can't get grips for it. Does anyone know if the grips for an IZH46 could be easily modified to fit the FWB? I am not want...

Are the two rings in the breech block really O-rings. I seem to remember the ones in mine were not O-rings, but more of a ring with a square or trapezoidal cross section. Of course that was after I dug around on the floor to find them back behind the washing machine. Lesson 1 Be sure the breech is c...

There was a guy on here that was selling some stocks with a different rake angle. They were pretty decent and could be easily sanded to change the shape. I can't seem to remember his name, but I think he was from Cincinnati. He may still be making these. Search for IZH 46 stocks on this forum, it sh...

Wanted to chime in about the Daisy 747. Excellent cheap pistol although price has gone up a lot in last few years. Accuracy is good and sights are clear an repeatable. For smaller frames it may not best if shooting one handed. It tends to be quite muzzle heavy. It is SSP, so there is some effort in ...

Daisy 953! It is light weight. The stock is pretty short, and you can buy it with aperature sights, for a little extra. It also has a groove for scope mounting if you would rather go that route. It is fairly accurate and she can continue to grow into it. I have been teaching a young boy about 10, bu...

If you want a flat pellet, try a 12 pound sledge hammer. Should flatten out quite symetrically, and really flat. Seems like when my pellets het the duct seal they flatten out pretty symetric. No steel plate. Just the duct seal. At our club our pellet traps are just a box with a sheet metal in back. ...
