If you're looking for some backyard fun and can't decide pisol or rifle, take a look at Crossman. The 1377 pistol shoots pretty good, and I think they make a model now that has a detachable stock so you can shoot it like a rifle. Not sure of the power for pesky pests, but I'm pretty sure at 10 pumps...

We will be having air rifle / air pistol matches at the Riley Conservation Club in Terre Haute, IN. Monday nights starting January 7. Will run through end of February (8 weeks) Distance will be 10m. I too am having trouble with the stamina. I read on this forum some months ago a suggestion that helped me some. It suggested standing with both arms out to the sides, and then making little circles for a count of 25 in the clockwise direction, and then doing 25 in the counterclockwise direction. Af...

Just get a cheap plastic case from Rural King. A double pistol case works well. You can put pellets, accessories on top level of foam, and cut out the lower level for the pistol. I think I got my case on sale for $16.95.

Mine is a Plano Protector series Model 1404.

Thanks everyone for the tips. Quite a bit to work on it seems. Probably the arm strength will be my first focus, and may couple that with the blank wall.
