Anschutz 6811 Extended Scope Base
Has anyone been able to successfully mount any of the 3/8" rimfire Burris Signature Rings to an Anschutz 6811 extended scope base? I bought Champion Shooters Supply's supposedly improved model 6911 extended scope base but the rimfire gooves on top of the base are narrower than 11mm (compared to...

EAA Tanfoglio Witness Match 40 ACP ?
Anyone own or has test fired an EAA Tanfoglio Witness Match pistol in either 40 cal. or 45 cal.? My local gunshop has a fine condition one in the case for well below book value. Would like to know what overall experience anyone has had with one of these including accuracy. Thanks

I have Redding dies for my 45 acp. I e-mailed Redding and asked if they make a seating stem that just contacts the shoulders of a SWC and they said yes they do. The person asked for my address and Redding sent out a new seating stem at no charge to me. It's wonderfull to be able to use the same die...

I've been using Mobil 1 synthetic for quite a while now with good results on my slides and bolts and found it resistant to heat produced from rapid and continuous firing. It's also red in color so it's easy to tell when it gets dirty and turns black. Have tried most of the other oils and greases but...

Cast Bullet Reloading Questions
I'm reloading 45 ACP cartridges with 180 gr. SWC cast bullets. The owner of the company (the company and owner shall remain nameless) I bought the bullets from told me that unless I use a "Lyman two-step neck expander M die" to expand the case mouth that I would distort his bullets when se...

What he said. Also, sights do not enter into the question. The Red Dots are easier to use than iron, but can't be used in International (Olympic) pistol shooting. I've seen a few of the red dot sights out there and and have tried out a holographic one but couldn't hit anything with it. Don't rememb...

Want to Know Reasons for Loading with Light Powder Charges
I've noticed a lot of the load data recommended by forum users is near, at or below the various reloading handbooks' suggested minimum powder starting charge weights. Would like to know what the reasoning is for using such low powder charge weights for Bullseye match shooting? I've only recently sta...

Re: the swaging down of the bullet during seating...I was advised by Dardas to use only the Lyman M die for expanding and belling the case mouth for bullet seating. I've gone ahead and ordered it to replace the expander die in my RCBS set. Was also told that the M die will prevent distortion of the ...

Are there not variations between bore diameters made by different manufacturers? Seems like what I read about slugging a barrel was talking about old M1873 Winchester lever guns and M1873 Colt SAA's and that it was saying that the bore diameters on these guns vary so you have to slug your barrels. I...

To Slug OR not to Slug, that is my question...
I've been reloading for about 8 months now and have only reloaded for my .308 and .30-06 service rifles and buy .308 dia. bullets for my reloading. I want to start handloading .45 cal. LSWC bullets for my Springfiled 1911-A1 and for my Kimber Gold Match II (both of which are less than a year old if ...

sooty cases
...I have been doing this for only about a month now and the thing I noticed the most is the 25 yard loads are sooty but I'll put up with it because getting older I don't like recoil... -- Bill -- I'm curious whether you are having trouble with blowback or lead fusing to your rifling due to the low...
