Trigger weight
A few of things worth considering: Trigger weight: The minimum allowed trigger weight is 500 gram. Typically I would pre-load the trigger pretty heavily - perhaps 300+g through the whole sighting process before applying the final 200g or so to release the shot. With this technique the first stage is...

Hi all As a part of my work I have access to Sigmaplot. It is a very versatile scientific data handling package which I use to plot my shots from the Sius printout. Once one notebook file has been set up it is just a cut and paste job to replace to bring the data in and the figure is drawn. I hope I...

Scatt cable
I use a USB version and I was thinking of setting up a second cable between the target and the computer and bought an off-the-shelf telephone cable. It wouldn't work and on closer inspection I noted that the original Scatt cable has one end reversed compared to the telephone cable. so I would say ch...

Thanks all for the advice. It sounds like my best bet will be to join a club and just practice there. I'll be in Geelong...I believe there is a pistol club there so I will try to join that. I have been a collegiate shooter and don't want my skills to rust too much! If you don't mind a drive, the Me...

Re: SCATT calibration problem: suggestions?
Hello, I have a scatt but cannot get it to match up a 10 ring hold with my rifle with a 10 ring score on the software. I have tried calibration multiple times but to no avail. I shoot 50m prone so this is an issue. Actual training distance ia at 4 to 5 meters. Anyone have suggestions on a solution?...

I'm pretty well set on the bolt action rifles in the 1800/1900 series when I upgrade. I'm going for the proven design, not breaking new ground. The 1827 is exactly that; a 54 repeater action, plus if you can find a full setup you get a stock with a forend rail pretty close to standard rifle dimensi...

Now, where can I find one of those 1800/1900 repeaters? :) Go looking for an 1827 Biathlon. I still have one that I bought second hand at the end of the 1980's when everyone was moving to the 1827 Fortner - which is the only one that they seem to produce now. I still have a soft spot for mine altho...

Centra Cheek
It sounds as though something is not right. On mine turning the knurled screw anticlockwise causes the cheekpiece to traverse to the left. However, there is a fair bit of slack in the system and it takes about two turns before I see something happening. The two grubscrews on the left-hand side chang...

my Anschutz 1411
A few photos of my main smallbore rifle. It began life in 1966 as 1411. My dad bought it second hand about 1975 and passed it on to me around 1977 when he traded up. I have been shooting and upgrading it pretty steadily since then and here it is in its latest incarnation Action: Anschutz 54 trued an...
