That's good to hear that they make quality stuff. I am looking at picking up a few of their trick bits, like the trigger and the mag release, etc. I have been able to shoot as high as a 883 (Gallery Pistol) with my old clunker High Standard Sharpshooter, but it weighs a ton, the old Aimpoint 2000 is...

IZH-35 Grip Question

Does anybody know if the Walther KSP grip fits the IZH-35? I saw a picture of a customized 35 at some website that sells triggers and weights and other parts (http://user.mc.net/~drweber/newizh-1.gif) and it is clearly a Walther grip and looks quite like a KSP200 grip to me.

Thanks,

Patrick

Great, so am I better off to ship my AP equipment to Pilkington's and pay them to transport it to the USASNC for me or what? Yeesh, maybe I'll ride my motorcycle down instead of flying and not have to worry about all the hassles of flights, baggage claims, rental cars, etc.

Hi David, Yeah, I found that rule after downloading the ISSF 2005 rules and pawing through it. A lux is equivilent to a lumen per meter squared, so about the same amount lux to lumens? Lighting terms and measuring units are crazy with nits, lux, lumens, candelas, watts, foot-candles, etc., etc. The ...

I don't think that complete darkness on the range other than the target faces is the accepted standard. It seems to me (from what I have been able to find online) that most of the ranges are well-lit affairs, with fluorescent lighting, except the incandescent spots on the targets themselves.

10M Range Lighting Question

Hi all, I have a question for you rangemasters out there regarding the lighting standard for ISSF and USAS approved ranges. I know that the target face is to be at 1500 lumens, but I am wondering about ambient lighting both mid-range, at the firing line and behind the shooters. After shooting from a...

Getting off-topic a bit, but I'll venture my reasons for you Mike: I love playing basketball. I play pretty well, but is it possible for me to ever go to a national championship and compete? Nope. I love shooting more than basketball. I am better at shooting than basketball, but is it possible for m...

Re: usa shooting

Before you donate ask yourself if worth it ... Paul OK Paul, I'll give it a try; "Patrick, is it worth it to voluntarily send USAS 1% of the total price of any items that you sell on a free BBS—a board that is dedicated to the very shooting sports for which that organization acts as the NGB?&q...

Sure, it would be totally up to the seller to follow through with the donation, but they could just make a note of "Target Talk" on the check and then someone at USAS could keep track of the total and let us know at the end of the year so we can all pat ourselves on the back a bit. I for o...

Just an idea ...

As a Life Member of USA Shooting (#134) and a frequent contributor to their various capital campaigns, I am still always trying to come up with ideas to get them more funds. I was browsing the BBS today and had a brainstorm: What if everyone who sells something via the Target Talk BBS donates 1% of ...

Detroit Armour 10M Target System

Does anyone remember the motorized target retrieval system made by Detroit Armour Co. called The Competitor? It was a simple, yet rugged little unit with a reversible momentary switch on the front of the motor housing and was reasonably priced. One of the local ranges that I shoot at has 12 of these...

It seems that the trend over the past 25 years is slowly doing away with centerfire and then rimfire events and going towards an all air ISSF competition model. 300m rifle hasn't been in the Olympics since Montreal '76, Running Deer went from centerfire, to Running Target with rimfire to Moving Targ...

VAshooter: I appreciate your input, but I honestly don't think that match pressure was an issue. I didn't feel that at ALL through the match, or leading up to it. My heart rate was fine throughout, I had no random mental lapses or the like ... I just had a very wide arc of movement and I am 99% cert...

Don't need to worry about me winning ... my score was, ahem, let's just say "less than optimal." Greg has the lead so far for reported scores and is in line to win not only the beautiful trophy, but also all of the fame and glory for being the first ever winner of the Hamburger Open. All t...
