Middle TN Bullseye Clubs/Shooters?
I've recently retired from military aervice and would like to get my hand back on the gun now that I'll be staying put a while (for once). I'm in Clarksville, TN (about 45 minutes north of Nashville) and have yet to find any local shooters. I have a good 25 yard indoor range in town and there is a p...

Re: Factory 9x19mm for CMP Hardball
Federal Eagle Suppressor 124 grain is pretty darn promising--except you need a 10 lb spring for it to work.
Winchester Train 147 is pretty sketchy
Winchester Whitebox 115gr is remarkably accurate.
More to follow.

Re: Factory 9x19mm for CMP Hardball
Oh, of course, I'll try some samples and see what works. For now it's going to be Winchester white-box 115 grain FMJ, Fiocchi black-box 115 JHP (zero bullet), Federal Eagle 124 FMJ subsonic, Winchester Train 147 FMJ-FP subsonic, and Fiocchi 158 FMJ subsonic. The trick is I have to use jacketed bulle...

Re: Factory 9x19mm for CMP Hardball
Sounds like I should be in good shape with what I've got as long as I don't go much past 25. I will see about a reasonably priced supply of the Atlanta Arms stuff but I may well just go ahead and reserve my real accuracy testing for whenever I start loading. I've got the Winchester white box 115s i...

Factory 9x19mm for CMP Hardball
At the moment, I am shooting a stock Beretta 92A1 for CMP Hardball and not able to handload. I've been hearing good things about Fiocchi ammo (115 grain JHP in particular) in APEX barreled 9's out there but I'd be well served to know the forums opinion on factory 9mm in general. I've got my eye on a...

Re: Bullseye near San Clemente
I like informal...though I assume it is a range of only 25 yards right? I will look into it for sure.precisionpistolbox wrote:On Target is close to you in Laguna Niguel right off the 5 at Avery. There used to be a group of guys that shot an informal 900 on Wednesday nights.

How soon is too soon with 5m BB?
I've got a young shooter (just turned 6) and an Avanti 499 with his name on it (and a Remington 514T and a Savage 24C and...and...)
I'd really like to indoctrinate him early in competitive shooting (he's got 2 brothers too); are there good programs developed for young shooters to start from?

Bullseye near San Clemente
I'd like to get back into the bullseye scene but cannot afford the looooong commute in the San Diego/Los Angeles area. Can someone point me toward a club a little closer to Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton?

Ransom Rest near Camp Pendleton
Anyone in the 760 area code (or near abouts) have a ransom rest available to do some seriously esoteric accuracy testing? I'd be interested in knowing about custom makers for scales/inserts too.

Expat shooting community in Seoul?
I will be relocating to Seoul at the end of the year and would like to connect with international pistol/rifle shooters there. Any help from the board?

Berry's Bullets
Realizing you probably have a bunch of HRN bullets already, you'll probably just want to resize them. On the other hand, Berry's plated bullets come out at .3566 (10 bullet average) as well and have fairly thick skirts besides the copper plate. Anyone use these in a 240 or a S&W 52? I've not hea...

...but I hear and see good things being done with the IZH-35M. I've seen them go for a bit less than recent production MKII and MKIII pistols with the trick Volq parts installed. I've been through three Rugers over the years and have to agree that they are a good place to start. There is also a sign...

I shoot a revolver for the CF/45 phase of 2700s at this point. I had sold my 586 recently but may work to acquire a better revolver to replace it. Thanks for the insight--rapid fire as fired in ISSF is pretty slow as I understand it and I had not considered that recoil would not represent an issue. ...

Thank you for your respective insights. I have looked around on the normal resources a bit (web, forums, etc.) and run into the issue of brand loyalty. It's nice to have some pragmatic advice. I am meant to understand that there are some issues with WC stability at 50 yards inherent to the pistols a...

Comparrison of Various Hammerli/Walther Olympic-CISM pistols
I am transitioning into the realm of ISSF shooting and would like to know a whole lot more about the various marques of pistol before committing to any one in particular. I've looked into the Hammerli 240, 280 and SP-20 and a bit into the Walther GSP. I have had only limited exposure to these fine w...

Ham. 280 vs Ham.-Sig P240 vs Ham. SP20 vs Walther GSP vs Oth
I wish this thread was about a serious comparison which I undertook of all of those weapons...but it's not. I have had only limited exposure to these fine weapons and am seriously considering acquiring one. So, which bear is best? Are there any serious technical advantages between the 240 and the 28...
