Just bought new Thune Jacket and Trousers, made to measure, expensive, but I had a good look at lots of kit before I bought and I felt the Thune was just that bit better. I know a lot of people with Monard kit but the detailing around the shoulder strap was never quite right and the upper arm for th...

Wooden stocks on new rifles are a waste of time. Modern woods are not the same high quality of woods used 30 years ago.
Stock material is really only a personal preference, although alloy stocks are more adjustable.

If cost isn't a problem, the barrel and action to go for just now seems to be the Bleiker, which is hand made and is quite expensive, in the UK the figures mentioned are around £1800. Stocks are really down to personal taste, if you want an alloy stock the Grunig is quite nice as is the new HPS 703,...

Shooting without any support will be extremely good ..... for nothing!!!!!! There is no benefit in shooting without a support, and if anything may start a habit of lifting which you may take a long time to get rid of. If you are happy with your aim and trigger release with the support in get somene ...

I think the notion of more weight being on the front leg is something of an optical illusion. Think about it, what is the most important thing in any form of shooting? - balance! You must be balanced to stand still, while it might look like the weight is slung forward, it is only the hip that is for...

The butt plate should really be in the pit between the shoulder muscle and the collar bone. Being placed in a particular place like this makes it really easy to repeat placement. The quality of your butt hook really helps here. I tried a couple of the Anschutz butt plates with my old 1813, and I can...

If your only reason for adjusting the stock is that your sling is fouling the trigger guard why not just replace the sling?
