Re: Noise in the World Cup Finals
I just watched the ISSF video too, and was initially really put off by the noise, but then I wasn't there either, nor was I competing so I really didn't know how to judge. At my home range they allow shotgun shooters, and black powder rifles right along side the small bore shooters because there is ...

If it is the pre-Precise Anschutz design knock-off then it is the same as mine. It is not really rotation adjustable in all axisis., but enough so for most people in the ways that matter. ividual riser posts can be differentially adjusted to allow a cant, and the wood cheek piece itself can also be ...

For whatever it's worth, there is another benefit available to NRA members in that 'big shiny' building what houses the NRA. In the basement/lower level there is also a really nice 100 yard indoor range available for the use of members and their guests. I don't actually remember if I paid anything t...

I thought hard, and hesitated before I started another thread (now locked), because I know the moderators need to keep some organization here, but I thought rightly or wrongly, that this thread had developed a philosophical gravity that was massing around a debate over if we had some right or other,...

So.. now what do we do?
I have (mostly) read through the 'new gun regs' thread, and propose a discussion of a different direction and focus. I'm proposing a practical assessment of what we can do to protect our sport from any further erosion, and what work we can do to restore what rights and privileges we already lost. I ...

You are going to have to hunt hard. Due to the current political climate most ammo and reloading supply calibers including exotics and unusual have been bought up. My advice is try out of the way places. Midway was never really reliable for SK/Wolf anyway, and everyone including shooters who don't r...

Low angle sun washes out the buff A-51 6 bull target at my range enough for me to notice and use the polarizer. The yellow filter is the predominate filter after clear in terms of my usage. I have never needed the polarizer indoors and expect that indoor conditions requiring one are rare. But all th...

Thanks jordan1 and efoleyjr for your feed back. I have been digesting what you have said and that created more questions. Why is it necessary to even adjust the duplex left/right up/down wouldn't that be a duplication of the rear sight functions, seems like something is eluding me? Does the adjustab...

The polarizer lens is not an ordinary grey lens. It can appear to be a grey lens and when used in cojunction with a second polarizer does indeed mimic the effect of a variable grey lens, however its primary use is to cut down strong directional light (or glare) without proportionally reducing total ...

Centra Duplex sight
Does anyone have any experience with the new Centra Duplex? I have been seeing them on several rifles on the ISSF prone World Cup video feeds (thank you hi-def !).
Are they fiddlly, secure, and did you experience a benefit? Thanks for any input.

I for one would love to see more ISSF compliant gear with a made in USA label. Unfortunately for the aformentioned reasons it is a tough market.. For advice you could tryJeff Madison of M.Werks llc. He makes a beautiful tuner stock in Michigan. Each is painstakingly hand machined from a billet of so...

It would help to know where you are located. The UK and German suppliers suggested are excellent, have more product selection options (in general) as the.majority of the gloves are made by European manufacturers, but the exchange rate and the shipping are definetly more if you are from USA. Returns ...

1913benny I was going to pm you so I didn't hijack the op but then realized that the answer was relevant enough. I switched from wood to aluminum on my Annie and the aluminum is significantly heavier. That being said, the aluminum stock is much more consistent than the wood was on my rig. However that well may have been because the original wood stock was not bedded. It is unlikely that any Olympic class wood s...

OK, now you really got my interest. I have a Anschutz rear filter sight with polarizer that really needs an anti haze cleaning. I have the champions shooters large bag. It has backpack straps, wheels and handles. It fits a ton of stuff, is divided up well for storage. It gets super heavy if you put everything in it. If you have to go down stairs (one of our local range is downstairs indoors) you might want to consider two sm...

Perhaps a compromise? Basically, I do both. A graph data collection excel spread sheet and my log alongside it in the same sheet to see if changes effect performance. It's primitive but kind of works for me. You can draw inferences from longer term trends especially if you can relate them to events....

I got the Walkers over the ear type, with electronic amplification and noise cut off, and they were very good at both of those tasks. My range allows muzzle loaders and shotgunners (slugs only) and pistol shooters to shoot on the 50yd Small Bore range along side the small bore shooters (lucky us, bu...
