Redding T7 press issue

I have my Redding T7 mounted on a Strong bench mount, and put a plastic container under the Strong mount to catch the spent primers. I decap as a separate operation, and do not use the plastic tube. Recently I have had the spent primers jam up inside the 1” diameter hollow ram the spent primer colle...

Re: thoughts on 10 year cylinder age limit rule

ED. If you like shooting air pistols then jump on in and test the waters. If you ever shoot a sixty or thirty shot match with your izzy. When you get done you will think this is a bit redundant!!! And I own a FWB102,65,80 and 90. Cranking is of for practice. Time to gun up!!! I shoot 60 shot matche...

Vogel pellets

I just received an email from Creedmore, advertising Vogel (green) pellets, after not having heard anythng about them for a long time. I have just about worked through a sleeve I obtained from Pilkington, and recall an offer to give some sort of credit for returning the plastic containers/sleeves, w...

Re: thoughts on 10 year cylinder age limit rule

SlartyBartFast, do you even own a PCP 10m air pistol? I think some of this personal questioning could be best taken to PMs. But as the question is posed publically, I'll answer here. I use the air pistols and rifles at the club. No I don't own one. I've seen the questionable way some members behave...

Re: Beginner Air rifle questions

I love my FWB 602, purchased from Jim E, but will admit that laying it down to pump and then back up into position, it does take its toll, but then I am an old geezer shooting offhand without support, and inexperienced at offhand to boot. An old newbie. but that 602 is SO PRECISE!

Re: Supported Air Pistol

I am remembering that the evolution of F Class shooting within High Power rifle competition had a somewhat similar history. F Class is named for a Mr. Farqhuarson (sp?) , in Canada, who was suffering the slings and arrows of advancing age, and was no longer able to assume and hold some of the firing...

Re: Pellet Testing... AGAIN!

I wonder if the extra weight played a role. I prefer RWS R10 8.2 gr. pellets for matches, my Izzie seems to like the heavier weight.

Re: Supported Air Pistol

From what I have read this is a very popular and fast growing shooting sport in Germany. I understand England is also working out rules and standards for it now. As a member of the older generation I’d really enjoy an event that I could be competitive in once again. Is this being shot anywhere in t...

Re: Pellet Testing... AGAIN!

...<snip>... While I've got you, have you ever tested H&N Sport pellets against the RWS Basics? There seems to be ONLY one source for Basics here in Canada and I've recently cleaned out their stock entirely. (And they're really rather great pellets!) They're now waiting for another shipment to ...

Re: Pellet Testing... AGAIN!

the tin pellets are very hard! can't be squished with fingers like lead. So again, the question comes whether it will damage the barrel. Unlike lead, they retain their shape somewhat after slamming against the pellet trap. Danger of ricochet One of the clubs I am a member of has an indoor firearms ...

Re: Pellet Testing... AGAIN!

I was so impressed by Rover's pronouncements that I just ordered four tins of the green lid Basics. Can't wait ! The sleeve of Vogel Orange is just about gone, been shooting my R10s in practice, which seems profligate. :)

Re: Pellet Testing... AGAIN!

Noob question on condition of pellets, out of a sleeve of Vogels, I have one 500 count container where all of the pellets have oxidized (?), a light gray powdery coating on all of them. All of the other containers had bright shiny pellets. My inclination is to not use them, thinking they would crud ...

Air Venturi compressor

Just got an email from Pyramyd re a new electric compressor, and I thought yes! this could ease the decision to go PCP. But when I hit the link, I see it is coming in @1300, discounted.... That much would buy a lot of SCUBA tank refills. Also, not specified, but would you not want to put a moisture ...

Also, looking at your user name....... the years of holding onto to a Harley throttle will increase your risk of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome from the transmitted vibration. You wouldn't be able to get me on a Harley!!! No way! Not my style at all. It's BMW GS all the way! :) (Your point is of course val...

Re: What kind of Air Pistol?

You are shooting better with your Izzy than I am with mine. I got to try an lp10 for about a week and I didn't shoot better scores with it. I did find it had a much better balance than the Izzy, but I think training with the Izzy will help to strengthen my wrist and help me learn not to over correc...

Re: What kind of Air Pistol?

Bolted in a vise (assuming you can figure out how to cock it...), the IZH will put 60 shots well inside the 10 ring. However, the question is: why aren't you able to do that without a vise? Once you have the fundamentals down, it's all about how well the ergonomics of the pistol suit YOU. If you ar...

Re: What kind of Air Pistol?

I 100% agree with Hundert. It really doesn't matter. Get something that you feel is the pistol you want to use. I am wondering if there is a rule of thumb as to when to upgrade from single pump Izzy to PCP. I have been working my Izzy hard, and I know it can outshoot me any day, but I am having tro...
