Match Tactics

Match this past Saturday. Shooting pretty well for me (89, 87, 88 on SF, 98 TF and RF on the NMC. 1st target of timed fire match my scorer tells me there is only 9 holes. I look at the target and can not find anything that looks like a double. I study each of the 9 holes and find nothing that looks ...

Too cold in Maine right now to worry about sweating. I had not thought of that issue. I guess I'll learn more this summer.

I took the sugru suggestion... I had heard others talk about it. Easy to use. Sets up well and fast. Easy to add layers to layers building up small portions. It ends up as rubber.

We are such a small community already... Why do you want to fragment it more? I dont see it as fragmenting. Certainly not intended to take anything away from you Mr P. It's not a forum - a service/value you so very well provide - BTW, thank you. No plans to sell anything. Infact, my linking to your...

Larrys Guns in Maine has a big supply of New/Old TOZ35s and plenty of parts. I just bought one from him a month ago - Rink grips too.

Awesome.

.22 2700 & Scarborough Fish and Game (Maine)

Scarborough Fish and Game (Maine) has just opted to utilize the new NRA format and hold a .22 2700 at each of our traditional, 3-gun 2700s. Shooters will opt for the traditional 2700 match or the .22 2700 match. Both events will be fired concurrently. Our hope is that this will attract more shooters...

Dr Lee. Thanks for the article tip.

For others, here is the link http://www.pilkguns.com/c5.shtml

I'm trying to break the shot into its component parts and working on drills to improve each - then combine. All dry-fire now.

Trigger Question

This morning dry firing... Occurred to me that I was smoothly moving the trigger straight back until the trigger broke. Started pulling through the break - all the way to the trigger end-travel and seemed to notice an improvement in performance. Obviously the trigger motion is smooth, continuous and...

Ditto on the matches. I learn every time I shoot in a match. Nobody cares how well you shoot. Show up and join the line. Learn from mistakes and keep on going.

This is the first time. My idea - many think I'm nuts. We hold the Lobster Match each August that attracts about 100 shooters. Also a monthly match during the warm months. I thought we should expand our repertoire. To the IDPA crowd I say, "Real men shoot with one hand at great distances."...

Scatt Question - Shot Location

New Scatt user. Very interesting so far. I have identified a few issues with my shooting. It traces my position on the target as I aim and shows where the shot breaks. The position of where the trigger breaks and the "breach" hole are not the same. Sometimes they are close and sometimes th...
