http://english.cri.cn/mmsource/images/2008/07/02/zqn.jpg Moving the buttplate in height isn't possible because then I won't come down on target and the rifle will be to low so I need to reach down. I can't see how that could help this problem either. Shortening the stock is possible and if I shorte...

You see alot of shooters that have a high trigger arm. For me that seems impossible without using muscles to hold it up. http://images.beijing2008.cn/20071027/Img214184647.jpg What other solutions is there to avoid contact with the right pectoral muscle? Is it just me that have my bodyparts in such ...

Buttplate contacts right pectoral muscle
I've a problem when shooting standing, the buttplate contacts the right pectoral muscle. This contact pushes the buttplate up and out from my arm and therefore the buttplate only have contact with the arm on the lower part of the buttplate. I have the buttplate in the "hole" between the de...

For what I have understood and experienced myself is that such problems often comes from the elbow, but of course it could be something else. All nerves pass in the elbow joint and therefore you can pinch them in the elbow, it's enough with a little wrinkle in the underclothing or the jacket bunchin...

Buttplate placement in kneeling
I've watched the finals in 3P from the world cups and one thing that caught my attention is that many of the shooters have the buttplate placed a long way out on the shoulder or even on the arm when shooting kneeling. Why is that? All that I've read about kneeling shooting recommends placing the but...

No definite solution yet. It works pretty good but not like I want it to. I have only trained with dry fire the whole of may. I've done two competitions and the results there where not fantastic but for me pretty good. The results where 609,5(581) and 613,8(583). The first competition was very windy...

One problem with waiting out the wind is that you don't know what is going to happen later in the match. Maybe after 43 shots a storm starts and if you have waited for every shift earlier then there can be some problems with the time and maybe you get forced to shade extreme amounts. Last match that...

Today I tried another change in my sling setup. I adjusted the upper arm loop to be tighter and doing that changes how it align itselfs around the arm. I got the feeling that the sling pulls more straight out with more even pressure on both straps. Because of the sling getting shorter doing this I g...

I've had exactly that planned in my training plan for today. Dry fire with focus on relaxation and NPA. I guess I'm lucky because for me dry firing is fun and I do it quite often. I have no problems to relax if I close my eyes but my NPA is not consistent and when I need to adjust the NPA for every ...

I continue to answer my own questions. I moved my left elbow 2-3cm closer to my body and that raised my position a little. I moved the sling upwards on my upper arm around 2cm but that may be to much because now I see more pulse. I tightened the sling 2 notches, this can also be the source of the vi...

Solving problems in prone
I've been fighting mostly the same problems in prone for at least 2 years and I think I've isolated the source but I don't know how to fix it. I often shoot 60 shots prone around 585-590p but the feeling isn't perfect and my hold trace is to big and the recoil isn't perfect mostly because of problem...

It's not the calves that work the most. It's mostly in the ankles, like you do if you stand up and want to fall backwards. If I do have this tension and I manage to controll it under the whole shot process the result is pretty good. Yesterday I finished of my standing training session at 50m with 20...

How much muscle tension should it be in the legs and ankles? For me it feels like I must maintain a degree of muscle tension in my lower legs and ankles to keep my legs straight up from the feet and not bowing out towards the toes. The feeling is a little like I push with my front of the foot like y...

Doesn't all good standing shooters arch their back to get the rifle to come over the balance point? Of course excessive arching isn't good but how do you get the balance without doing it. I've had back problems for the last 10 years but only shooting the last 3 to 4 years so I listen to my back and ...

A little answer to my own question. Yesterday when I was training I noticed that I didn't arched my back enough. When I arched my back more and got my shoulders further back the balance got easier to maintain. The problem is to keep this position, I don't know it's strength issue but it is very easy...

Standing balance
I shoot around 360-370 in the standing part of 3x40 on 50m and in 10m air rifle I shoot around 560-570 in 60 shots. One problem that I have is when I check my balance and make NPA corrections looking over my sight everything is good. When I look down the sight everything starts out good and my desce...
