One thing that I've heard many times is that you shouldn't look at your score and so on but I mostly shoot on Megalink and there the score is shown all the time. For me it's impossible to not notice the score when I look at the monitor to see where I hit so my new approach to this is to always look ...

I always look at my own shooting and wonder what will do the most for me regarding to shooting high scores. For me it's my positions that restricts me the most. My hold isn't good enough and of course I can make my hold better if I can relax myself and get my pulse lower and it's is really useful in...

For me I had to train standing much before it became comfortable. Of course if it feels like you are hurting yourself then it's no good but if it produces good results I would stick with it even if it's less comfortable. You got to strengthen the muscles to make it comfortable and that must be done ...

One thing that makes this harder to answer is that most probably have different definitions of what a mental problem is. If I jerk the trigger and score an eight that is not a mental problem if you ask me. I think that is a technique fault. When looking at shooters in training and competitions you o...

Mental aspects in shooting does it get to much attention?
As I wrote in the subject, mental aspects in shooting does it get to much attention? What do you think? For me it feels like my biggest concerns are strictly technical and therefore it is mostly technical errors that make me to miss the middle. Therefore my focus is on my technique and some physical...

I've tried Dave IRL suggestions and it feels a little better but the problem still exists. I can get my NPA exactly in the middle but then after I reload I need to make many small adjustments in my arms and shoulders to get my NPA in the middle. It feels like my right shoulder is pushing the rifle f...

For me, when I had a similar problem, relaxing in position was pushing the rifle in that direction as my shoulder settled forward. Bringing in the elbow supports the shoulder a little more directly. It shouldn't slump forward at all. Similarly, I had to loosen my sling a little because it was pulli...

Try bring in the trigger hand elbow slightly, along with loosening the sling a bit. If needs be, try move the handstop forward or backwards until it settles fully and you just have easy, natural and vertical movement. Can you describe in more detail why you think I should do the changes you suggest...

One problem that I have in prone is that when I fully relax my NPA goes up and to the left at 10-11 O'clock. I have for a long time wondered why this happen. I think I have found the problem and it seems like when I fully relax I roll over to my right and my right shoulder then collapses and I end u...

I have a KK300 Alutec with the lightweight barrel and I would choose it again if I should buy another one. I like the lighter weight in standing and I have weights on my buttplate to shift the balance point towards me even more. I've started using a MEC strike extension tube in prone and kneeling an...

One problem for me is that the weight distribution varies and that is probably a cause of me tipping over to the left and sometimes right and when doing that placing my right elbow in different places. It's something I need to learn at my training sessions to just lower the right arm after reloading...

Weight distribution between elbows in prone
For a right handed shooter what weight distribution between the elbows do you have.
I see many recommendations that you should have your weight almost exclusively on your left elbow.
For me it feels like it's hard to be consistent in putting the weight on the right elbow.

Re: Kneeling
Robin is right about the Holy Grail. But when you find a great kneeling position you would rather have that than the Grail. Kneeling is a very technical position requiring lots of work to perfect but when you do it is a thing of beauty. Nothing more exciting than shooting your first 100 in kneeling...

I'm not aware of the situation in Sweden where the OP is from, but in most countries the domestic rules for club level smallbore equipment are nowhere as stringent as for full ISSF matches, so that generally any kit that has in the past been acceptable generally stays that way. Alan According to Ji...

Here is a picture that I have drawed that shows my foot position and the pressure on those. Does it look normal and what is there I can test to overcome the tendency to fall forward against the toes? How much tension is normally used in the feet? I need some tension to hold the balance, right or wr...
