Re: Brand New to 10m - Which Rifle

I agree with the last post. If you can wait until around November the new Crosman Chalenger will be available. I had one in my hands a month or so ago. It is more adjustable than the Hammerli Crosman is showing a $600 price with sights. My daughter started precision with a CH2009 and would still be...

Re: Best choice for young ones

As Rover noted at those ages 4-H is probably your best option if there is a program in your county. Where do you live? In some cases there may be a club that you don't know about and is most probably always looking for new shooters to train and parents to help coach too. What ages are your future sh...

Re: The State of Smallbore Rifle Competition in America

Why is the USAShooting National Championship not included in the last question of the survey? When USA shooting begins running Men’s Prone and a 4 day 6400 they will be included in the conversation. As you well know, USA shooting is unique in they are our governing body with a voice at the USOC tab...

Re: NCAA "Equivalents" change?

Thanks for the article .... but it gained no points for the NCAA from me. And they were already below zero before I read this. NCAA has botched the whole collegiate athletics issue/problem that it (IMO) no longer a viable organization. Scrap it and move on - let the conferences make the rules. The p...

Re: Opinions on Scoring, Challenges

On another note - Anyone remember using the single bull 100mm targets as we used to do before USAS got their electronics? ORION was built to score these as well ... and does it VERY ACCURATELY. These were targets meant to be scored manually, and had all the nits picked in terms of the printing on th...

Re: Opinions on Scoring, Challenges

These are cellphone or digital camera images correct? Once the paper target is scanned, it cannot be scanned again. The scanner deforms the holes as it runs it thru. Even a flatbed can do that. The "official" target now & forever is the scanned digital image. (Just saying - I don't lik...

Re: Opinions on Scoring, Challenges

In the "olden days" NRA used to have a division (read an employee) whos only job was to measure and certify the printing of targets. Inside/Outside of lines to the edge of the x and so on. When ORION was new and really only used by CMP, back in the days of the Daisy Open and Nationals in B...

NCAA "Equivalents" change?

I heard last week that NCAA has removed the equivalents of 3.6 scholarships on shooting to whatever the school deems fit and can afford ... for all sports? Collegiate coaches ... is this correct? If so - one more "BIG WIN" for the HAVES and a big loss for the have nots. Seems to me that NC...

Interesting to point out the difference I see
STD Plus, Rifle Match, Center-X, etc are spec'd at 1073fps
This Long Range Match is at 1099fps.

Huge thanks to both ASSA and SK Ammo.
A shooter firing SK STD+ won NCAA smallbore in 2015. Even their most inexpensive ammo performs well in the top matches.

Re: USAS National Matches in 2022

Not wanting to make too much of an excuse, but the National Matches were almost always held at Ft Benning. Visitor control there was highly regulated at the second part of the Olympic Trials last year --- to the point that it would not have been feasible to hold a "public" event. If their ...

Re: NCAA college air rifle score analysis

Not a shooter but a coach. So take with a grain of salt- A lot of the increase in the score has to be (sometimes you just have to admit it) a positive improvement of the sport by ISSF in bringing decimal scoring to the game. No longer are 10.0s cutting it in the International game, and most of the s...

DEATH BEFORE F-CLASS!!!!! That's just silly - with the passion you espouse, I'm guessing if it was all you could do to shoot, you'd get down & peep thru a telescope at a target. Dedicated to my Dad - Joel Martin who still stumbles around a Sporting Clays course with his O2 machine draped over h...

The ISSF wobblies seem to just have to make changes after each quad.
No good reason - just makes them feel useful.
Look at the SBR final to see what they've done this time

Your state government has not posted the details yet. First in the nation

Sorry ... The 2002CA is a Wood stock is still OK (wood stocks are now exempted) The metal stock is the one with the issue .... ISSF declared it illegal when they put the 140mm rule in place (current - 7.4.4.2-F)(old - 7.4.2.4) I have a post/topic somewhere from back then: - ah ha: http://targettalk....
