Re: Anyone Put a Rink Grip on a Walther LP400?
jbshooter, You, sir, are ready for some serious business! Nice job. Do you find that the stock Rink grips have deep, pronounced finger grooves like a Steyr, or are they less pronounced with a gentler contour? The above picture of my Pardini grip had no finger grooves at all, and I thought about orde...

Re: Walther lp400 vs morini
javaduke, Makes me glad I have the "Club" version that doesn't have the notch depth adjustment. Tried a Morini 162EI this weekend, did not like it. Of course if I hadn't owned a Steyr LP10 or my Walther, I wouldn't know that there were better guns for me out there. Thought the Morini would...

Re: Anyone Put a Rink Grip on a Walther LP400?
So even if I get the Rink, chances are that I'm going to be whittlin' and puttyin' anyway, right? But it would seem to make sense to start out with something as close as possible, rather then end up with an epoxy coated Frankenstein that adds 1/2 pound to the gun.

Re: Quick Review of Walther LP400
Hey Norm, Thanks for the info. Just checked mine and since it is the "Club" version, I don't have that adjustment at all. Mine also is two pieces. Instead of sweeping out gracefully into the wider section, mine is just two separate pieces of different width metal butted together. Ignorance...

Re: Quick Review of Walther LP400
Comparison Update: I finally got to shoot a Morini 162EI at a match today, and I almost bought one sight unseen before I bought the Walther. Boy am I glad I didn't. The medium grip (which is my size) didn't fit very well, it had a lot of muzzle flip compared to the Walther, and it was louder. It jus...

Re: Anyone Put a Rink Grip on a Walther LP400?
Good Points jipe,
I find it odd that some palm rests do not tilt, as if the bottom of your hand is flat. I've also heard that the factory LP400 grip is too flat and the sizing weird. Makes me lean more and more to a Rink.
Thanks for sharing your experiences.

Re: Anyone Put a Rink Grip on a Walther LP400?
jbshooter, What differences did you notice between the standard Walther grip and your Rinks, and would you do it again? Andrew, A very unique and forward thinking use of a 3D printer, congrats. I'm intrigued, although for everything I want your price is $170, not including shipping. The full price f...

Bah, don't beat yourself up. Doing things wrong is the only way to find out how to do them right. Checked 3 sources and still didn't see the problem? Maybe your prescription needs updating?

Re: IzH 46m repair
Box it up, send it to Buck at Pilk. He rebuilt my older 46 and it's like new, as well as a FWB 100 and Steyr LP10. In fact, any issue with any decently made AP, box it up, send it to Buck. Don't even hesitate, just do it.

Anyone Put a Rink Grip on a Walther LP400?
Since the synthetic grip on my "Club" version LP400 is just too small and hard, I'm not going to try to modify it, but go ahead and get a regular walnut 3D grip. The question is, get the factory job or a Rink? The best grip that ever fit me was on a Pardini K58, and the Rink looks a lot mo...

Re: What to use to Build up a Synthetic Grip?
After realizing this grip is just too small to begin with, I'm going to get a regular walnut 3D grip, either from Walther or Rink. Thanks for all of the replies, and I almost took the plunge with Loctite repair putty, but didn't.

Re: What to use to Build up a Synthetic Grip?
True, but there is soft and hard rubber, like a bicycle tire inner tube compared to a car tire tread. I'd just like the man who tried it explain the consistency once it's dry. If it's hard enough to be gripped without changing it's shape, it might be worth a try. Still haven't heard back from Walthe...

Re: Quick Review of Walther LP400
Vince, the rear palm shelf screw adjusts the back of the palm shelf and the thumb shelf at the same time. You can see the rear of it in the first picture.

Re: What to use to Build up a Synthetic Grip?
The Sugru ad says it dries like rubber. Is it flexible when dry or stiff?

Wrote an inquiry to Walther, Mark emailed me back the next day, and is checking on exactly what it is made out of.

Re: Quick Review of Walther LP400
The compact is 920g according to our kitchen food scale, no extra weights attached. I find that once I adjust my sights, I never touch them again, so things like "you have to use a tool to adjust the sights" means absolutely nothing to me, and so what if I did, what, another 5 seconds to u...

Re: Walther LP400 Grip Size - where to find the info
Thanks for the discussion guys, I recently bought a LP400 Club Carbon Compact with the black synthetic ambi grip. I was going to modify it, but I think I'll just buy a nice Walnut 3D Medium. Problem is, who has them for sale? Seems like no one has them in stock.
Thanks,
Richard

Re: What to use to Build up a Synthetic Grip?
Hmmm,
John, that's a great idea but the product says "Does not adhere to polyethylene, polypropylene or some other plastics." I guess the question now is what kind of plastic is a synthetic grip made out of?

What to use to Build up a Synthetic Grip?
The black synthetic grip on my Walther LP400 Club needs help, but what do you use to build up a plastic grip that won't destroy it? Need a moldable putty substance that will harden as it dries. Will Bondo work?
Thanks,
Richard

Quick Review of Walther LP400
Just bought an LP400 Club Carbon Compact. Sold my Steyr LP10. The trigger from the factory is mediocre because the weight ratio of the the first and second stage is off, easily corrected. No reflections in the sights noted. The fact that the rear sight depth can't be adjusted is a non issue, plenty ...
