Re: Cheap Glasses
So what if I use only the flip-up shades from picture 3, no inner tube? The tape on the blinded eye is less than 30mm, the rest of the lens is just a regular sunshade.

Re: Cheap Glasses
Bill, love the LR reference, but he could see with both eyes, which is why he was a better shot than me :)
So David, what would I need to do to make these legal? Not that I will ever enter an ISSF match, but I like to play by the rules.

Cheap Glasses
Hi guys, Lots of people have been asking about shooting glasses lately, so I thought I'd offer a cheap solution. I bought some clip-on flip-up sunglasses from WallyWorld, drilled a hole in the right lens that I predetermined the size I wanted from experimenting with paper, covered the lenses with bl...

Re: Tip For Walther Carbon Club and Synthetic Grip Owners
Guys and Gals, Here are better pictures of what I did to the grip. You can see that all the little lines in my hand are imprinted in the epoxy, an exact copy of my hand. Just to let you know, I also bought a Rink grip because I thought that would be the best grip I could put on this pistol. Sent Mr....

Tip For Walther Carbon Club and Synthetic Grip Owners
If you want to mold the black synthetic grip on your Walther Carbon Club pistol to fit your hand, use JB Weld WaterWeld for about $7 at any Home Depot, Lowe's or equivalent. It's an underwater epoxy that goes on like a putty but dries hard in an hour, with about 5 minutes for you to shape it any way...

Re: Poll: Where Do You Aim?
I just wanted to thank everyone who posted a reply and shared your preferences and PR's. The reason I started this was because I feel like I'm pretty solid in all the things we should be doing to execute a good shot (stance, breath, trigger control, etc...), but I always aimed straight at the bullse...

Poll: Where Do You Aim?
Do you have your sights set for:
A: The bullseye.
B: 6:00 - bottom of the black.
C: Sub-6 -and if so, about which ring?
Also please include your PR.
Thank You!,
Scrench

Re: Steyr or Morini to buy
I've had a couple of Steyr's and a friend I shoot with regularly allows me to shoot his Morini. I don't care for the Morini at all, and you can read my opinion of Steyr from the quote I wrote, lifted from another thread: "I just sold my Steyr LP10 to re-buy (boy was I lucky!) the Walther LP400 ...

You're welcome.
Mine is still solid as a rock, and I can now feel the trigger cocking, as well as any trigger mistakes I make.

Lighter Air Pistols - The Wave Of The Future?
In another thread a discussion was begun about the merits of lighter air pistols even though the OP was just asking about some guns in particular. I thought it would be more appropriate to move that part of the discussion to it's own thread, so here we are. These are some of the comments I made, all...

Re: Buying a used PCP pistol
I don't buy anything from someone unless they are listed on Network54's Board of Inquiry (BOI) with a solid amount of positive recommendations, or unless they are a known quantity (like Buck at Pilk), or a friend of a friend who can vouch for them. In upteen years of fooling with this, I've never ha...

Re: Walther Alu vs Carbon?
Doesn't matter. That person who works out and can hold a heavy pistol for a long time can also hold a lighter pistol much longer. It's all about the window of time to accurately shoot in. The accepted norm at the moment is 5-7 seconds, if you haven't fired by then, put it down. A lighter pistol can ...

Re: 10 meter pistol scoring?
For our 10 meter matches, held in conjunction with our 40 shot silhouette match, we hand out 6 targets to each shooter. The first two are to warm up, adjust sights, whatever, within 15 minutes, as many shots as you want. The next 4 targets are shot consecutively, 10 shots each for 40 shots. Not hard...

Re: Walther Alu vs Carbon?
I am a big proponent of lighter air pistols with a long sight radius, and convinced the first perfect score will be shot with one under 900 grams. Easy to prove. Go to your kitchen, find a can that weighs 800-1000 grams. Hold it as though it were a pistol and point it at an object as a target, dead ...

You can also buy rental SCUBA tanks from most dive shops as they continuously update their supply. They are cheap, and constantly inspected and certified so they are safe. Mine was $80.

Re: Anyone Know How To Stop IZH 46 Grip From Moving On Cocki
You're welcome Joe, and if I may humbly suggest to every IZH owner with a grip that moves, don't wait another minute, shim that puppy up right now! There are two very good reasons why. When I took my grip off (just bought it used), there was chewed up wood that had obviously been ground off by the m...

Re: Walther Alu vs Carbon?
Sorry Jerry, I really don't know squat about the FWB other than what I read on the internet because a friend of mine just bought one. I have absolutely zero interest in FWB, because my Walther is fabulous. I only noticed that the FWB design sounds a lot like what Walther did.

Re: Anyone Know How To Stop IZH 46 Grip From Moving On Cocki
Success! A little TLC was all it needed. I pulled most of the cotton off of some Q-Tips, wet the ends with Ballistol, and cleaned the sear, rocker arm and any part I could reach thru the side holes. They came out dark brown and filthy. Blew a little into the gun so it would get to the rocker arm piv...

Re: Walther Alu vs Carbon?
I just sold my Steyr LP10 to re-buy (boy was I lucky!) the Walther LP400 I sold. For me, no comparison. The design of the Steyr feels like ancient history, like a Baikal IZH. The Walther is much quieter for backyard shooting, the loading port is easier, faster and a better design, the longer sight r...
