Re: Red Dot on Air Pistol

Not long ago my club hosted the Shamrock Silhouette Shootout (on St. Patrick's Day) for rifles and pistols. The guys shooting the Red Dot Pistol division used these guns and red dots. Locals use Baikal IZH 46M's with the Vortek. Maybe you can make it next year. Open Iron Sights, Red Dots and Scopes ...

AP 10 Meter and Silhouette Matches in Baton Rouge, LA

Just a reminder that we hold an air pistol match every 2nd Saturday of every month in Baton Rouge, LA., at our club's outdoor range at the State Fairgrounds. It's free, and everyone is welcome. 40 shots 10 Meter and 40 shots Silhouette, scored separately, then with Silhouette scores multiplied by te...

Re: Any experience with importing from Krale (Netherlands)

Several (6) folks in my club have ordered pistols and rifles from Krale. You will experience nothing different than if you had ordered it from someone here in the USA. You do not pay VAT, you do not pay customs. The price they quote is all you pay, and you get it amazingly quick, 2 weeks tops, usual...

Re: Does anyone shoot 60 shot AP using Point of Aim.

I think to make aiming in the bullseye area work, you have to aim dead center so that the width of your front sight is exactly the width of the black at it's widest point (which it is with a 5mm blade for me), and vertically split the black exactly in half. So, you are not really aiming with the 10 ...

Re: Need Fixing Socket and Screw for Walther LP400 Carbon Cl

The medium right-hand walnut 3D grip I got from Champion's Choice did come with the lateral screw already in the grip, so I only needed to get the socket and screw set from Walther, which cost $17. The Walther part number is 2787083 on their web site, but on their schematic for the LP400 the parts n...

Re: Need Fixing Socket and Screw for Walther LP400 Carbon Cl

Thanks for the input guys. I haven't asked Neal yet, but CC suggested asking Walther, and Thomas Rink said I could get it through Larry's, since he ships monthly to him. Now I've got Janet at Walther on the case, so I'm sure it will all work out. The only thing we are trying to figure out is whether...

Re: Need Fixing Socket and Screw for Walther LP400 Carbon Cl

m1963, It is a stock Walther grip. I did contact them first, and their reply only said: "That part number brings up a hinge but it is using the correct format for our parts." Most curious is that they did not give the right part number or any other information. It was the same number you g...

Replacing Walther LP400 Club Black Grip With Walnut 3D

I am upgrading the black ambidextrous synthetic grip on my Walther LP400 Carbon Club to a regular walnut 3D grip, but am told, according to the Rink website, that I will need a special fixing socket and lateral screw to install it. Now I know no one has one of these sitting around, but so far Rink i...

Re: Shooting Glasses Option and Question

I had the same decision to make, so I got a prescription for "computer" progressive glasses that will focus from about 1 1/2' to infinity. Had 'em made at Wally-World and they work great. Also, while you are there, buy some of their $8 clip-on, flip-up sunshade lenses, and experiment with ...

Re: Anybody read this book?

Hey Guys, Just thought I'd let you know, I was reading this post, then went to Amazon to read the excerpt on the U.S. Army Manual suggested by atomicgale. Just those few paragraphs addressed some questions I had, to the point that I was already trying a new stance in my room while reading it, and it...

Re: LP10 getting 75 shots

Most my LP 10's ever got was 120 shots on a long cylinder, 90 on a short. If you want 180 real shots on one cylinder you want a Walther LP400.

Re: Considering getting the LP400 Carbon

I've owned about a dozen World-Class quality pistols, every SSP made except the Walther, and most PCP's including two Steyr LP10's. I sold my last Steyr for my Walther LP400 Carbon Club. In fact, I made the mistake of sipping the Steyr Cool-Aid legend so much that I had talked myself into believing ...

Re: best all round pistol for olypmic style shooting?

I'm a beginner, want to shoot .22lr divisions with IHMSA. After long research and search went with Ruger MK2 Competition Target Model stainless steel slab-side barrel. Found a good one for $350, plan to use SK Standard Plus or Wolf Match Target ammo.

Re: New AP shooter--teardrop-shaped holes question

I had the same problem with a Postal match I shot in Europe that required me to download odd-sized targets off the internet. The best solution has already been given, buy quality Kruger targets as Edelmann's are no longer available, but in this case I couldn't. So I copied them onto regular paper, t...

Re: IZH 46M - The force is Weak

This may not be the popular solution, especially for DIY guys, but when I have air gun problems, especially on a RAT (Russian Agricultural Tool-IZH), I send it to Buck and be done with it. Usually ends up being taken care of faster than waiting for parts, etc.

Re: IZH 46M - The force is Weak

Yep,

Original 46, not the 46M version, velocity is around 380-400 fps. Had 3 of them. Still enough to punch nice, clean holes. A friend just sold one on the Yellow that got snatched up in 15 minutes.

Colorado,

How do you have your sights set, for bullseye, 6:00, or sub-6, and why did you pick what you did?

I'm going to try a strip of masking tape in place of the black tape I have over the left eye, no inner tube.
