The compression of air in a springer is only as rapid as the closing of the charging handle the transfer of compressed air in a ca is near instant much more rapid the entrance of oil into the regulator can cause the same effect but if you read the anschutz maneul they warn against the same.

No petroleum based lubes not even vasoline they will diesel under the high pressures and explode

lubrication advice

very minimal lube necessary as was noted by pilk guns if you overlube and have to send it out for repair he is the one you will send it to

making choices

true the athlete has to be proactive and make hard choices and each match has to be chosen based on the advantages of being there vs winning a lower profile match unfortantely this year it may be at the expense of the 4H nationals

shim for scatt sensor

tried shimming sensor works fine needs fine tuning.afterthinking about it this would be slightly different for other brands or models. it is to correct for barrel taper. used electrical tape folded in half then taped on to repeat sensor location and to protect barrel
