Re: can pardini 250 bar be filled by car inflator
I get the impression from the question and the follow-up question from rajemessage that a more fundamental misunderstanding is at work. Namely, the impression that air pressure building to 250bar is an additive problem much the way one might stack 250 bricks. If this is what's happening, then I'd su...

Re: SSP air pistols
I see. Silly bureaucrats making silly rules. As if a lighter weight airgun constitutes a greater danger to society. How tragically silly. Well, good luck in making your decision. If it were me, and if the FWB were as good a bargain as the Baikal, I'd probably go with the FWB simply because it is a m...

Re: SSP air pistols
Well if you're forbidden to modify an air pistol in any way, then it would seem an obvious choice; buy the new Baikal. A 20 year old SSP is very, very likely to need new seals at a minimum, and may need some polishing of sealing surfaces depending on how it was maintained. If such repairs/maintenanc...

Re: SSP air pistols
Working on the internals of a 46m can be challenging by comparison. Durability of the piston seal is a problem, as the synthetic they've used seems to stiffen over two or three years, resulting in more and more velocity loss. Mine dropped from around 470fps with 7gr pellets to about 435fps over 2 ye...

Re: I'm sorry your new air pistol is a piece of crap
It doesn't look like a 'short' model to you? The proportions looked wrong to me, as I've shot beside a few people using the full-sized 162EI and this picture just didn't seem to match my memory of those. While your picture is obviously at a slight angle, which distorts the overall appearance of leng...

Re: I'm sorry your new air pistol is a piece of crap
No matter your toy, a good shooter will clean your clock with a FWB65. Why do I say this? You can't buy points...get over it! Pulleeze, prove me wrong. I haven't shot competitively since November of 2013, for full disclosure. But during my several years of competing I went through a Baikal 46m, loa...

Re: Pardini K12 Cylinder Issue
I've been lubricating the fill end since I got my first Pardini, a K12. Used a light lithium grease for a time, but eventually went to a silicone oil. Indeed, it would be nice to know exactly what is specified by Pardini. But one gets the sense that they sell the things and aren't really interested ...

Re: Am I expecting too much
When I started trying 10m AP in 2011 it was with a Gamo Center spring-piston air pistol, which I modified in a number of ways to perform better and to fit my hand. After several months my scores climbed from around 400/600 to just over 500/600, whereupon I bought a used Baikal 46m. With that one it ...

Not sure if Rover's disbelief is genuine or a nod of respect... In case the former, here's one thread with some information about how he's gone about it: http://www.airgunbbs.com/showthread.php?812635-Walther-LP-53-500fps And another: http://www.airgunbbs.com/showthread.php?673139-Interesting-findin...

Re: Pardini K12 Cylinder Issue
I bought a full size K12 in 2013, new, and about a year ago the cylinders started slowly losing pressure. It got gradually worse until recently they would drop to zero overnight. I bought a full K12 seals kit - a small plastic bag with a handful of different sizes and types of O-rings. I completely ...

Re: Pardini Questions and Answers
You're most welcome. I've also slipped the breech seal out and replaced that, as mine was getting a bit flat looking. I did test with a sheet of tissue over the breech while firing and saw no lifting of the paper, but it was about time anyway to replace that tiny O-ring. We're going on vacation for ...

Re: Pardini Questions and Answers
Thanks, but I won't be shooting this weekend. I last competed in that match in 2013, and it was very difficult to do so, the rotator cuff injury to my right shoulder making every hold on target more painful than the last. I was actually surprised to make it through Sunday's portion. I've been throug...

Re: Pardini Questions and Answers
Okay, finding a bit of time this evening to attend to my leaky K12 cylinders. First thing is to disassemble. In a former life I was a bicycle mechanic, so I still have my tools, and that's handy as one needs some sort of decently strong pin tool to take the end plugs out of the tube. I have 2-pin to...

Re: Pardini Questions and Answers
Well thanks for the encouragement. I'd probably feel a lot less old if I could afford dental work... dang rotten mess in my mouth and I'll have to earn a heck of a lot more than I do to afford all the work that's needed to restore a healthy set of chompers. Otherwise I'm in great health (shoulder in...

Re: Pardini Questions and Answers
I'm sorry! I misspoke. It wasn't John B, but rather Alexander Chichkov of Pardini USA writing back to me about seals who said that he changes his K12 seals so often: "Generally speaking, after around 1 year of use, I replace the seals on my pistol to be safe, but I do use it pretty often."...

Re: Pardini Questions and Answers
I've got a full seal kit on the way to me from the Canadian rep for Pardini. Sure would be nice to see a basic tear-down video for the K12, a really simple how-to for replacing all the seals in that pistol. I've got the blow-up diagram in the manual, but that's really not very helpful. You'd think w...

Re: Olena Kostevych
That was one heck of a shoot-out! Edge of the seat type of thing. Nerves of steel on Olena. Of course that's always been her way, sticking it out, unbothered by the dynamics of the session, just shooting her best game. A most admirable result, especially considering she has a baby to look after.

Re: Pardini Questions and Answers
Something else to consider is that the older a magazine gets, the greater the chance that the feed lips have become stretched out by the constant pressure under them, causing rounds to angle upwards too steeply before they're stripped off. Some very gentle pressure to bring the two lips slightly clo...
