Re: Grip fit

First, I feel the grip needs to be shaped so that whatever pressure your hand exerts on it is almost entirely front to back, i.e. no lateral pressures. This needs to be true even when you (inadvertently) make slight changes in grip pressure - these should not cause lateral movement. If you don't mi...

Thumb issue

Dear fellows,

I'd like some opinions about thumb in air pistol shooting. What does work better for you in terms of ...
... position: along side the grip? pointing up? pointing down?
... pression: no pression at all? slight pression? up, down, laterally?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Warm up exercises to shooting

What exercises are sugested to a shooter before starting a match? I suppose it shouldn't be too soft (not warming up) nor too hard (letting muscle shaking). What about something like a sprawl to wake up muscles?
Thanks in advance.

ISSF rules for gauges

Stefan, You can find ISSF rules for gauges in http://www.issf-shooting.org/rules/rules.asp. Go to bottom of page and download rules and regulations 2005 (14MB). Read item 6.7.15.6 (4.5 mm OUTWARD Gauge for 10 m Air Pistol), which is part of issue 6.7.0 (SCORING PROCEDURES). There are detailed proced...

There is a short but interesting article on choosing a sports drink on one of our GB web sites. It is obviously a bit dated as the reference to caffeine being prohibited above certain levels is now wrong. Are you saying caffeine isn't bad for shooters? Why? Which levels of it are we talking about? ...

Front or rear focus

Almost every text on shooting supports front focus approach to sight. I totally agree that target focus is unacceptable, but my point is, what is the real and big problem with rear focus on sight?
Thanks in advance for answers.

Counter weight, what is it for?

Dear fellows, there're some silly questions that I must ask.
1) What are the counter weights for in 10m air pistols?
2) How they help in shooting?
3) How to use them correctly?
4) Does the adjustment vary during a competition?
Thanks a lot

to Fred

I think any changes to improve trigger control are welcomed, but any of them must respect rules. ISSF says: 8.4.2.4 Electronic Triggers are allowed providing: 8.4.2.4.1 all their components are firmly attached to and contained within the frame or grip of the pistol; 8.4.2.4.2 the trigger is operated...

Thank you guys for answers. I've found an old topic in archive that solved the problem. It's a bit complex, but it works. In fact, the problem is related with minimum second stage weigth as Mark Briggs said. If anyone is interested, the topic I've mentioned is "Advise needed: Morini 162 trigger...

First of all, I wasn't complaining about 162EI when I posted this topic. I'm using this fantastic and quite reliable gun. I've never tried a 162MI, but I'm curious about trigger smoothless and grip adjustment (better or worse 162EI?). Finally, I'm glad to hear from Mr Francesco that if I have any pr...

From 162EI to 162MI

Is that a way/kit to change a Morini CM162EI (electronic) to work mechanical as a 162MI? Did anyone already do that? Was it good? How much would it cost?
Thanks in advance for answers.

Morini CM162EI problem

I bought a Morini CM162EI and ajusted trigger take up and first stage travel to my preferences. After that, the eletronic start blinking (and the trigger doesn't work). The trick is that the problem occurs sometimes, not always, but now I don't have confidence enough to rely on my gun in a competiti...
