If you look closely to the Rapid Fire shooters at World Cups, some of the Pardinis appear to have 3D printed front ends, possibly to make the front lighter.
Then again, some have weights to bring them up to the 1400gm limit.
What suits is what works best for YOU.

ISSF GTR 6.7.6.2(g) states that both Air and CO2 cylinders must be within the 10 year compliance date.

Re: ISSF Ammunition Rules
Nobody worries too much if they use a 9mm or similar in 'service / combat' style matches. What these inconsiderate people do is disrupt people who are shooting according to the match rules as set out by the ISSF. The noise and muzzle blast is disconcerting for other shooters. See the comment by Gwhi...

Re: ISSF Ammunition Rules
Many ranges are limited to subsonic ammunition. This is defined in Wikipedia as 340.29mps / 1116.4fps. I'm sure a lot of 9mm and 38Super loads exceed this, particularly when they shake the concrete floor. Perhaps having a "chronograph day" might straighten out some of the "big-bang th...

Re: 22 target pistol or rifle
Air pistol is one of the hardest pistol disciplines. Difficult for beginners, and not easy to master. Perhaps it would be better to start the youngsters off with air rifle, either prone and/or benchrest. This way they can achieve results which meet their expectations early on and should be able to p...

Re: Scatt on walther lp500
I shoot a Morini 162EI.
My Scatt mounting block is permanently located on the frame where the cylinder screws into main body. The zero is off-target at 10 metres, but it is consistent, so moving the hit point to the centre of the target is easy.

Re: How many times you raise your arm
Yur Yev shows how many times the top shooters raise the pistol during a match. He shows how wide the variation is. As in most things shooting related, it's an individual matter. It's not so much that Yur Yev's book is out of date, it's more to the fact that he provides a solid base for learning the ...

Objects which absorb all light wavelengths will appear black. So a black sight is absorbing light, not reflecting it.
I use flat black hairspray. Really convenient.

Re: Curved or Flat Trigger Blade?
I have used the Tek-Hro blade on my Morini 163EI and Morini CM22RF. With both, I found I had to concentrate a bit more on finger placement. They have a rubber ring which helps with the consistency of placement, but overall I found the emphasis on finger placement to be a distraction. I went back to ...

Re: Scatt or dry fire?
Reply from Gwhite is spot on!! Dry firing is a key element to improvement. Dry fire at the same pace as you live fire. For Air Pistol, have a shot plan. As an example, using a timer - prepare to fire every 40 seconds. This gives you a moment to rest between shots, and takes away the tendency to rush...

Hi, another positive comment about Krale. I ordered an item from a local supplier. With no action or reply I sent an email requesting delivery details. Was told they would get back to me. Waited another week and made the request again. Was told their supplier hadn't replied. I cancelled the order an...

Re: Pardini .32 and Small Rifle Primers
Hi everyone. I know it has been a while since the last entry, but with the situation here in Oz re powder and primers, perhaps this is relevant. First off, I can't locate my notes of about 15 years ago, so what I say is from memory. Testing primers. Using a .32 revolver (Toz 49). Loaded approximatel...

This is a great initiative Ramon.
So far we can see that "one size fits all" isn't quite the case. Celine's response is very insightful.
I would like to see Olena Kostevych (she's just great!!), and Antoaneta Boneva (for her unorthodox style).
Keep the good work up!!

Re: Toilet paper or pistol ammunition?
Just another case of people not knowing what they are doing when they have a knee-jerk reaction to someones theoretical "bright idea". Justification for the suspension of firearms and ammo sales is based on the supposed effects of long-term isolation, eg: 1. Domestic violence will increase...

Re: Technique for settling on target
Hi, The conventional wisdom is to raise the pistol higher than the centre of the target, then lower and hold at your aiming point. This works well for those who are fit and healthy and younger. When you are older and not so healthy and not so fit, a change of technique could help. If you raise the p...

While the English espoused "growing old gracefully" as a virtue, here in the antipodes we get more fun out of old age by "growing old disgracefully".

Re: Olympic pistol training notes
Hi Ramon, Great articles!! So good to see training focussed on the older shooter, rather than the fit and young. Us older folks find that training has to be a lot "gentler" than what the younger shooters can handle. More reps/lower weights on the physical side, and more/shorter sessions on...
