Is a good goal to abort at least 4 shots? I am a beginning shooter and I usually take several shots that I shouldn't have.

I am shooting in my first AP match Saturday. Do I need to bring a CBI? If so, can I just cut a piece of weed wacker line that is longer than my barrel? Does it have to be any special color?
