Theory and statistics may be valid, but it is easier [for me] to hold a steady sight picture with the short TOZ. Longer barrels tend to make the front sight dance and I have to add a lot of weight to calm them. Shorter barrels don't wobble [for me] and I can hold a light weight pistol like a stone s...

If a 35 has to be cut to remove the front sight to add a straight one or a comp, with the idea of lightening, how much length can be cut ? Is there a barrel length ideal for free? The 35M front sight comes off by loosening a setscrew. The TOZ35 barrel weighs a bit over 1 ounce per inch. This "...

From my experience, I'd recommend an FAS 604 over a Tau. It has the accuracy and is much better quality, but without all the hassle.

You will need a NIOSH rated unit with canister filtration, the paper masks won't work.

Attaching the Merit aperture to a Behr jeweler's loupe allows vertical and lateral adjustment, and the assembly can be used on the right or left side of glasses without modification. Email me if you want a PDF describing how it was made. It's also listed in the Free_Pistol forum files. http://www.my...

Re: Revolver trigger job

Has anyone out here done any work toward taking down a Smith & Wesson Model 14 trigger to 1000 grams... You can only back off the hammer spring so much before it won't ignite the primer. Jerry Miculek has a video available showing the ways to properly accomplish the job. He sells a lighter hamm...

I cannot locate the news story to back this up, so you will have to take my word on it. A wad cutter pellet from an air pistol, I assume moving a minimum of 400+fps, can penetrate the thin temple at close range. Regarding flesh wounds, some demented dipstick in the area was shooting cats with an air...

Re: Has anyone handled the new Webley Alecto pistol?

Another plinker influenced by the FAS 604.

Checkout the Weihrauch HW40 [aka Beeman P3], too. That design seems to have less mass above the hand than the Webley, and the trigger is adequate. Also see the Gamo Compact.

Afaik, it's about trigger adjustability.

What disappointed me with a 95E purchased new about 18 months ago was the plastic trigger/magazine housing. Have they always been made that cheaply? Hopefully, the 90 has, at least, die-cast alloy.

The TOZ's low barrel axis was an upgrade.

A good approach, an likely the most affordable, is the IZH-46.

It will be exciting when the pin punctures a cartridge. If it was a good idea it would be commonly used.

Makes you wonder, though, what it would be like if run by a bunch of young farts. Every new generation has their own perspective, and it's usually naive until they have some time in grade.

Issued today by the ISSF It is a business and all about marketing. For sure, the non-shooting public's view of shooting as presented by news fear mongering and movie media is dismal. "All sports are concerned with the image they present to the public and media. Olympic sports, in particular, a...
