Re: Target Sequence

Agree with making as few position changes as possible. You can further reduce horizonal changes to two. After sighters then targets above and below sighters. Then shoot one column top to bottom or bottom to top. Go to other column & do the same.

Re: Does anyone know the cost of an Electronic Target System

Might want to check the new Athena. From CMP Shooting News July 7, 2020: "Introducing Athena: The World's First Affordable Electronic Scoring Target - The future of competitive shooting is with ESTs. This is clear. Up until today, though, the ESTs on the market have had one undeniable flaw - th...

Back to original post. NRA states that All-Americans will be announced at NCAA Championship - but, according to J.H. Martin, there is apparently no banquet this year.

Normally best to use the hand on the side of the dominant eye, e.g., right eye dominant then shoot right handed.

Re: Hammerli AR20 Prone Issues

Best to first fully evaluate the position and make any needed changes. Good article "An Improved Method for Teaching Prone" Dec 2007 at: http://thecmp.org/communications/gary_otm/ . If after position is good the problem still exists you can modify the rifle as long as you stay within the r...

Re: Purdue University loosing its range! - UPDATED W/GOOD NE

1. They may have "attacked high school ranges and shut many down during the Clinton administration" but I know some were shut down prior to the Clinton administration. In '84 my range was inspected & passed by an EPA inspector. He just looked around and checked to make sure air moved w...

Dan, Ref your "They don't send teams for non-Olympic events. No team - no selection." For FP & prone, USAS stated "For the WC in Munich while it is true that both of those disciplines are on the schedule they are not Olympic disciplines meaning we do not have to run a selection ma...

Re: Rules question - prep time blowing air through gun

Trying to help clarify, the release of just air is not the same as the release of air and pellet before match firing begins. ISSF rules (6.11.2): David Levine was correct above about warning for 1st time, then two-points penalties are accessed. USAS has same rule. National Standard Three-Position Ai...

Re: New ISSF Rules - Partial Summary

Ref enforcing rifle touching rule: Much easier to enforce in USA Shooting than in ISSF because USAS is more lenient. It's the USA Shooting rules that "clearly states no touching forward of the centerline." This is relatively easy to check & enforce. Current ISSF rules state rifle must ...
