Re: Best bedding compound?

The Devcon will be good for the steel pillars. Most gunsmith use Acraglas for bedding the rifle metal contacting the wooden areas of the stock.

Re: Scaling Targets

I just practice on the regular 10 meter target. I have never thought of reducing a particular target to 10 meters, because I think all/any practice is good.

Sight picture

With iron sights, which gives the best sight picture, center mass, or 6 o'clock hold?

2014 Desert Midwinter

Anyone know the registration fees for these matches?

Is there RV parking at the range?

Is the US Revolver Association still in existence? If so, if anyone has contact information for the association, please post it.

I have noticed BE scores are lower than they were in the 1970's - 1990's. When I legged, cutoff scores were in the mid 270's. A 10 point leg was 280+, shooting 230 grain HB.

Jackh,

My goal was distinguished and P100, I became distinguished and several P100's.

I recently got back into BE, shooting indoor .22, and will continue with that for a long time. New goal is catching many springers, steelheads, and sturgeon on the Columbia River.

I shot irons in all 3 guns, and Hardball for CF and 45- my recommendation. People were surprised I could shoot 850-860 with HB regulary. Once I got distinguished, I quit bullseye.

22 ammo

What ammo, besides Eley Tenex, are people using for their bullseye .22 pistol at 25 and 50 yards? Can anyone rate these: SK pistol match, Wolf ME, Wolf MT, RWS Target Rifle. I see these are all listed for under $700.00 per case.

Xesse

I have shot my Xesse at three matches. Still not confidant with the two stage trigger which causes me to get shot's outside the 10 ring sometimes.

Thanks to all that replied, especially for staying on the subject - rare on many posts.

You have all helped me make my decision.

Hammerli X-esse

How good is the Hammerli X-esse for 2700 competition? It's almost half the price of the AW93, is it half the gun, or can it shoot 10X at 50 yards?

Scope

I used a Bushnell "competition" scope, fixed 20X. From the start of my bullseye, through distinguished and several President's 100's. The scope is used to verify zero, or make sight change. You score when you finish shooting, not with the scope.
