Marvel Precision FTF 2nd Round
Hello, My Marvel Precision Unit 1 has been working pretty good with one small problem. I get a failure to feed on the 2nd round quite often but only when I do the following: When starting out or after a break with the slide locked open, I load a mag with 5 rounds (cc1 std vel). I pull the slide back...

PROBLEM SOLVED!!!!
The problem is solved. For whatever reason, it just doesn't like that frame. Took out a different one today and it worked flawlessly, 150 rnds. Not my favorite frame but it works. Would have preferred the other one as I don't use it but it fits me well. Thanks for all the info and help. It can be fr...

If you do need to send it back, it will fit in the small express mail box at the post office. I would try another frame. I really think the problem may be there. Matchguy, where are you? Thanks I think insurance for $500 is more than a few bucks. I'd have to check. Sorry, I can't say. I'm in unfrie...

One thing that caught my eye is that you paid $500 ? I paid $360 ish through Midway USA. It is a Marvel unit #1 Where did you purchase your Marvel ? By the way, the slide should always go all the way back and all the way forward no matter what pistol you are shooting. This is how it is supposed to ...

I would listen to Clarence's advice and take Jake's. Why the hell should you mess about with a new unit. Don't think I'll be modifying it. I will try it on another frame. With the holiday I can't do anything anyway. If I do have to send it back I'm the lucky one as I get to spend another $15 in shi...

My peening has already been peened and runs flawlessly. Part of the break in process. Once the peening is out of the way, the clearance is fine. When talking to Marvel about different ammo they mentioned with the wrong spring the slide could go back too hard and become damaged. Don't know how far b...

Okay; I have my Marvel dissasembled in front of me as I write this. I see what you are talking about. My slide has a very faint peening on both sides where the aluminum is snow plowed forward a couple thousands of an inch. If this is truley where it is hanging up, then it needs to be machined a bit...

Re: You beat me to it Kate.
I took my Marvel off and on a couple times trying to figure out your problem. The Marvel slide has no where to go but forward and back cause it rides in the rail of the frame. Only bind would be the frame or slide. Clarence Interesting problem isn't it? There's no binding of the slide to the frame....

it could be your magazine that is locking back the slide. Try firing one round at a time without the magazine in the gun and see if it still locks open. If the magazine has a little catch on it, try filing that off, if you dont want it to lock back. CCI should work fine in the gun. Thanks for the t...

Thanks for the ideas. I don't think any of them is what's happening though. There's no binding of any type. It looks like the unit is going back to the max and the barrel is jamming into the slide. I can see metal transferring from the aluminum onto the barrel. With the unit off the frame, I can pus...

Marvel Unit1 Locking Back - Shouldn't be
Hello, Took out my new Marvel Precision Unit 1 had my first problem already. Was using CCI Std Velocity and the first 10 rounds fired fine. After that kept getting the slide locking back at least once per group. This is not the lockback model. Took the unit off the frame and I can pull the slide bac...

I don't mean this sarcastically... I have no issue counting to 5. I would like a steel slide however. I don't have a problem counting either, I always count my shots but wanted to see what match experts thought. What's that Burt Lancaster said in Valdez is Coming when the leader of the bandits aske...

Tactical Solutions 1911 Rimfire Conversion Accuracy
Hello, Been looking to get a Marvel Unit1 22 conversion but some of the reviews concerns me about jamming problems with general rimfire ammo. One review recommended the Tactical Solutions 2211 rimfire conversion instead siting the jamming issues. I don't see any reviews or mention of accuracy of the...

USA Emmons Wins Bronze
What a match. May be dry to some but if you have a stake in it with half a chance of some metal, it's exciting. A US shooter is our stake. He almost got the silver. He started in the silver position, then tied with France then Korea moved in then Emmons got some fantastic shots putting him back in t...

Olympic 3P Course of Fire
First time I watched 3P. Thought what we'd see was 3 positions but we only saw offhand. They started with 600 possible points then did 10 more in OH.
What's the course of fire for Olympic & World Cup 3p? What did the 600 represent?
Thanks

Think you guys missed the point of my post. Last week they had the on-line schedule posted and it included almost all of it, not just the gold medal rounds. It even had links to be reminded when those events were on to view. It appears now after the horrible events of Colorado, they cut down the sch...

NBC Won't Be Showing All Smallbore
I've been watching the schedule for what smallbore NBC will be showing on-line. Before this week their schedule showed qualifying rounds and just about everything. Now they chopped it down to just the Gold medal rounds for all shooting events. So if the USA doesn't make it to the Gold Medal round, w...
