air gun smith for RWS Model 75
I have a lovely old RWS Model 75 springer match air rifle with which I practice daily for rifle silhouette.... Bound to break sooner or later, and I wonder if there's still a shop that can repair it for me when and if that happens? Any suggestions appreciated...

Lazer Trainer two....
First, I'm not an Olympic rifle shooter, I'm an NRA rifle silhouette shooter, and I train indoors with a scoped RWS Model 75 on an airgun, pull-sting-reset, biathlon target.... which duplicates silhouette shooting pretty darn well! But, my venerable airgun is 34 years old, and I worry about it going...

Rebuild RWS Model 75?
While I know it's no longer competitive, I practice a lot with a RWS Model 75 Match air rifle, which I bought in 1984. Does anyone know of any company or airgunsmith capable of repairing or rebuilding these? The gun still works, but I live in fear that someday it won't, and I would hate to just hang...

Re: rebuild IZH - 46
How about this? I called MAC 1 airguns, to see if I could get it repaired..... I think I talked to Mac.... and he said, "Let me guess! You're a religious user of Pell Oil, correct?" I admitted that, yeah, I was, mainly because that's what I've read should be done. He said, "Don't use...

Do you give periodic oiling (pellgun oil) to the piston seal of your Izzy?
No, and yes......

Re: rebuild IZH - 46
What do you mean by main seal? Piston cup or valve seal. The later is more difficult to get to. I have no idea.... must be the valve seal. The pumping lever seems to be stacking up air, and closes like normal, but when fired, you only get the "dry fire" click..... is it something the owne...

Can anyone kindly direct me to a video or text showing how to replace the main seal on an IZH-46 Baikal air pistol?

Re: ammo, Marvel conversion....
Well, after the false start with an outdated Marvel, I got my money back and applied it to the purchase of a Nelson..... Won't shoot it until Wednesday next, but I'm impressed with it already. Now to learn to shoot better than 250...... http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd226/roscinante/melarmory/P...

Re: ammo, Marvel conversion....
Well, the plot thickens..... Evidently, I have purchased an early model of the Marvel conversion, with the early, thinner extractor, which over time erodes itself into the chamber, ruining the barrel..... I'm told that the only solution is a new slide with the new extractor, or to find a pistol smi...

Re: ammo, Marvel conversion....
Well, actually, I haven't had an alibi yet ....but I'm shooting Federal Auto-Match. I'm only a 250 shooter, both with irons and a red dot. I've just begun with the Marvel, though. Our indoor club shoots a 600 (10sf/10tf/10rf X 2), and I've been shooting a Ruger 22/45 (no alibis with it, either!). No...

Re: ammo, Marvel conversion....
I have had no problems with standard velocity of ammo of all types with my Marvel Precision conversion. However, the trick seems to be seating the magazine with the slide closed and then sling shooting the first round into the chamber. If you don't there is sometimes a missed of the second round. T...

ammo, Marvel conversion....
I just scored a Marvel conversion kit, with both a standard sight and a scope rail ribs, for a pretty fair price. It seems to run well on a Colt Combat Commander frame, but it cycles best with hi-velocity ammo, and I'm currently feeding it Auto-Match. Is this normal? What are the rest of you shootin...
