Don't know what to torque my 1800 action and aluminum stock

Hello! I'm not a studly international-type shooter, I'm an old geek, NRA smallbore type, but I need your help! Indoor rimfire season is here again, and I'm getting my Anschutz Match 54 (1800 Series) ready for action, but.... I bought me an aluminum stock, non-Anschutz, http://www.pdccustom.com/, whi...

Hmmm..... perhaps a bit of a stretch, but I've read that David Tubb will practice off-season with a scoped air rifle, without a jacket, and believes it helps him immensely with his primary discipline, iron-sighted, high-power rifle wearing a heavy NRA coat. This would argue against specificity in tr...

Self-talk after a poor perfomance.....

Just shot very poorly in a rifle silhouette match, way below my average....let alone my potential!

What kind of self-talk should you use after a bad match?

Just recently been in your position.... I settled on a Baikal IZH-46M, currently on sale at Pryamid Air. I had also considered the Beeman P-1, which duplicated the .45 grip which matches my Bullseye pistols, but I was won over by some arguments posted on this site and elsewhere. Good gun. I also hav...

Did Izzy cough up a seal?

Pardon my ignorance, but I'm less than 100 rounds "acquainted" with my IZH......and I just found this seal on the floor near where I shoot...... What did I do? Did the damn thing pop out of the gun somewhere? And how do I get it back....gun seems to shoot......nervous wreck, me..... http:/...

Got it! Thank you, gentlemen! Especially, Brian M. for the "hold torque" technique, and Random Shots for the Nygord link..... I went to our local "Sure Shot and Pawn," and bought a S&W $29 gunsmith screwdriver set. And when the screw started to move, it felt just like it does...

Izzy issues.......

Just got my new Baikal..... about thirty rounds downrange....groups well, but I keep cranking the sight to the left.....Izzy doesn't seem to want to go left...strange for Russian pistol, Da? Unwilling to go left? Lol.... Real issue: I must have the shortest trigger finger in history....the reach is ...

Pellets for Izzy?

Just bought an Izzy, primarily for training at home and for trying to raise my slow-fire scores above dismal in Bullseye, which is just about the only competition available locally.... What should I feed Izzy? Would like to buy a carton or sleeve of practice pellets. Also, do any of you have a link ...

Thank you very much, everyone..... good forum, this. I've gone with the IZH, and ordered an optics mount with it just in case I can't get my eyes dialed in. I figure I won't be out that much, and if I can get my slow fire scores up above 80, it will be more than worth it! Thanks again

Air Pistol for Bullseye SF practice....

I'm an older rifle shooter trying to switch over to Bullseye Pistol after our club lost its rifle segment because of lack of participants (smallbore rifle is too expensive, most newbies believe....). I currently shoot a Ruger 22/45 with VQ mods and a Millet Red-Dot, and I'm thinking of a Marvel Conv...
