Re: Scoring Limits of a Cheap Gun
I bought a couple used APs from Pilkington. #1 was a Pardini K58. As was mentioned, not needing a tank of air was the primary attraction. #2 was a Walther CPM-1. The tendonitis in the elbow started to make charging the K58 difficult, so I went with a used co2 AP. I am VERY happy with both APs. Both ...

Re: Spoting scope for 10 meters?
For home use, I use a spotting scope. I do not care about the "no spotting scope" rule, because I do not have an $$$$ electronic target. Not having an exception for venues that do NOT have expensive electronic targets, makes no sense to me. That is the kind of behavior where the rule maker...

Re: K58
Two items, trigger weight and sear engagement. As I recall, AP trigger weight minimum is 500 grams. You could set it lighter, but I prefer to set to ISSF regulation + buffer. As Bret said, the trigger sounds like it may have been set to "minimum" sear engagement, for the traditional crisp ...

Re: Mid-Level 10m Air Pistol
I called Pilkingtons, and bought - First, a used Pardini K58 for a bit more than an IZH 46M. That was a good decision. - Then years later, a used Walther CPM-1. My tendonitis drove me to get an AP that I did not have to pump, hence co2. Both are tier-1 pistols. The Walther was an older generation co...

Re: Aiming too long
Like a house, start from the ground and work up. - Is the the floor/ground HARD and FLAT? It is hard to shoot when you are on unsteady ground. - If you are not able to stand steady, maybe your shoes are not FLAT, and you are rocking in them. My normal street shoes get worn in the corner of the heel,...

Just shoot whichever pellet you and the gun shoot best with.
It "may" be in your head. You could be trying too hard when you shoot the match pellets.

Re: Jacket vs no jacket and expectations
I kinda started air rifle like you. I am primarily an AP shooter, and shoot AR as a break from AP. In the beginning, I STUNK. Not only did I have trouble holding the 1-ring, but some shots did not even hit the target :-( Out of FRUSTRATION, I got the help of a local AR coach. He completely rebuilt m...

<snip> Quote from the CC web site: The web store is temporarily unavailable as we are doing some maintenance. IMHO, this is a major issue. In this day and age, you CANNOT have your web store be down for a week. What kind of "maintenance" takes more than a week? <snip> Ransomware? hmmm, co...

John Unfortunately, there have been and still are IT and other people who think nothing of making changes directly in the production system. "It's only a "little" change." (How many times have we heard that one?) "It's faster than going through DEV, then a QA review, then f...

AirForce Edge back?
I just noticed today that the AirForce Edge is in stock again.
Did AirForce upgrade the rifle to fix it's early accuracy problems?
It seems to me that this is a bit late, now that Crosman has released the 3rd version of the Challenger, v2021. And Daisy has the 599.

Re: Best pistol for 10m International AP?
One caution when trying someone's pistol. The grip may NOT fit your hand. So you may get a false impression of how the pistol will fit YOU. I tried a LP10 and I think a Morini. Both had large grips, way too large for my hand, so I could not determine fit for ME. Because of the large grips, I could n...

Re: "Sensive" Trigger Blades for Air Pistol?
I don't actually know that I am pulling the trigger. BUT, I don't have your conflicting muscle problem, so when I start to pull, my finger keeps pulling. I think a faster pull will help, but from your post, you are doing that now. You pull the trigger quickly (not jerking), and don't give your finge...

YAY
My old AR coach told me to forget scoring the target.
Learn to shoot tighter groups, one ring at a time. The scores will follow as the group tightens.
That makes it easier for a weekend shooter like me.

Re: "Sensive" Trigger Blades for Air Pistol?
Few thoughts. 1 - Why bother with feel of the trigger. Once you start the pull, keep going. I CONCENTRATE on the front sight and the sight picture, and start pulling the trigger, still CONCENTRATING on the sight. If I'm doing it right, I don't know when the gun will fire. This produced the "sur...

Re: Question for tall AP shooters?
Don't over flex your wrist. Lower the angle of your ARM. There is no need to keep your arm up, so that the gun is at eye level. Yes you are looking down at your sights, because you are now holding the AP slightly below your eyes. But you MUST line up your eye, the rear sight, the front sight and the...

Re: Question for tall AP shooters?
I don't understand how you can aim an AP without having your eye directly behind and in line with the sight. I am shorter than you, I raise my pistol to eye level, rather than lower my head down to a lower pistol (shoulder height) like shooting a rifle. I am aiming slightly "downhill," but...

I also use 35mm rangefinder cameras. Have a contax IIa color dial, and a kiev 4a with jupiter 3. But I use my nikon SP as my travel camera. Nice to find aperson here with similar hobby. Film photography is a bigger rabbit hole to fall down; more then even air pistols. Especially, given how inexpens...

How serious are you about target shooting? The last time I looked at the 2078 specs (many years ago), the accuracy spec was not very impressive. That was unfortunate, as the rifle was priced very well for a starter rifle. Contact Beeman about power options for the rifle. I think there is/was one, bu...

Re: special spectacles for airpistol shooters
I don't shoot AP outside, in BRIGHT sunlight, so I don't have a need for an iris on my glasses. What is your reason for wanting an iris? With my normal progressive glasses, I had to tilt my head back, to be able to FOCUS on the front sight. Not good, that gave me a sore neck. So I decided that I nee...
