FWB rifle trigger terminology

I am trying to read a FWB 800 manual about trigger adjustment - terminology puzzles me. Pages 22, 23: http://www.feinwerkbau.de/ceasy/modules/core/resources/main.php5?id=1124-0&download=1 They have: Trigger weight which is divided into Trigger slack weight and Trigger point weight . Then: Trigge...

Re: Non-destructive pellet trap?

Thanks everybody.
Indeed, ammo brick box filled with 1 old t-shirt worked perfectly - no lead, no mess.

Here is the new pellet trap:

And this is after 200 shots:

Non-destructive pellet trap?

I am looking for some ideas how to make a pellet trap which would not smash the pellets. Not that I am going to re-use the pellets, but I am (and especially my wife) not a big fan of producing lead dust. Currently I have the box with duct seal putty - it works perfectly for the individual shots, but...

Re: Which scope/reticle for 50 meters and 50 ft?

Thanks everybody, (Yes, I know this is not for the ISSF rules events, but we have indor competition with "any" sights, and also to have a decent scope for my "recreational" .22 rifle), so the "best overall and most versatile" scope would be this VX-3 6.5-20x40mm EFR Tar...

Re: Which scope/reticle for 50 meters and 50 ft?

You're going to get a lot of different answers on your questions that will probably be all over the map. I've followed the herd on scopes most of my shooting career and stayed with 20x to 24x magnification with standard reticles or Leupold's duplex. I would caution you not to buy a scope with a fin...

Which scope/reticle for 50 meters and 50 ft?

Hi everybody, Who shoots smallbore with the scope - which scope would you recommend for 50 meters (and 50ft on reduced target)? What size and magnification should I look for, also which reticle is the best for target shooting on ISSF round target? I have some bushnell 3-9/40 scope (got it for free o...

If you are going to get one, spring for the one that can be quickly and easily removed when lighting changes. OK, got the idea.. Iris polarizer can be switched of completely with one click, correct? And tube-mounted obviously needs to be unscrewed.. Also, what is the difference between single and d...

I've never found any use for a polarizer on my rifles. I've tried them a few times over the years but even the best of them block out too much light to be useful. Waste of money in my mind, and something that a proper set of filters can handle readily. Eric U OK, thank you for idea! Which filters a...

Which polarizer for outdoor?

Which polarizer should I use for outdoor? Should it be in the rear sight? I use Centra rear sight with Centra Indoor 1.8 iris (5 filters). Should I get Centra Competition iris instead (10 filters plus polarizer, price is ~160 euro), or it better to get Centra Pol-Lens polarizer (~50 euro) - which is...

Question - position is too low in prone

It seems that I have too low prone position - too close to 30 degrees or might be even more - it tends to saddle. What should I do generally to raise it up? Move the handstop forward and shorten the sling for the same lengths? Should I lower the buttplate? And/or change the slingholder position? (I ...

How it looks like when you look through the sight? It's like "additional ring" between the rear diopter hole and front sight ring? Does this image looks correct? Gray area - rear dipter disk, then 1st ring - Centra Duplex, then 2nd ring - front sight tunnel, then 3rd ring - front sight ins...

How to pack the rifle?

I've just got my new 1907 (thanks to Miroslav Varga!) and have a question - how to properly transport it to/from the range? I have to remove the buttplate (otherwise it doesn't fit the case), also should I take the rear sight out, also cheek piece and remove the bolt? And then wrap individually, etc...

Suggestion on stand/tripod?

Looking for some stands for standing/kneeling. Do I generally need 2 of them - one for the scope, another for rifle/ammo? I have Champion's Choice scope stand for prone, so I'll just add extension rods to it. For the rifle: there are many stands available (e.g. Mec, AHG, Champion's Choice, etc) - an...
