Re: Question for the Coaches

dude, the OP wrote “as long as his arm.” I think he already found a coach. If he had not, your comment would have been appropriate and correct. In shooting sports a coach’s gender is not indicative of their abilities. If you read my intro clause, I noted that OP has specifically identified the male...

200target@gmail.com wrote: Fri Aug 30, 2024 9:17 am Is this a right or left handed grip and what is grip size?
From the pictures grip looks like the right paw.

Size, my guess is this is a medium, but that is a guess. Wineaviator: look for the S,M,L stamped into the bottom of the grip.

I do hear you about scammers. Often it makes me not want to bother.

Regarding direct sale or transfer at a match. Roughly, where are you located?

...make sure to enjoy the services of the superlative coach and be, so to speak, like putty in his hands. While you made reference to a coach who is a dude the above is applicable. If you continue your journey, be open to a coach that happens to be a dudette. Especially in smallbore and air rifle t...

These are cut and past from your similar post in Buy Sell Trade but these are some guns that would be reasonable starter air pistols Air Arms Alfa PCP Competition Pistol, new I think they are a little more than $1000 but you might find one used. Some versions of the Hammerli AP20 dial in under $1000...

Re: Best PCP Air gun for beginner- (Budget-friendly)

Thanks for your response, Can you recommend any site where I could buy one? Also how does this dealer thing work? Do I have to go to the nearest store which shows on Walter’s dealer map and ask them to order one for me? I’m really clueless as to how it works. Air guns are not regulated the way fire...

Things to look for might be: Air Arms Alfa PCP Competition Pistol, new I think they are a little more than $1000 but you might find one used. Some versions of the Hammerli AP20 dial in under $1000. Air Venturi Comp10 is well below $1000 The Air Arms is probably the best of the lot with Hammerli comi...

Re: Wtb a good budget starting 3p Smallbore rifle

History lessons about Annie Oakley (given name properly spelled Mosey) aside, the key statement here is the part about reasonable quality and appropriate physical size. Given that 3P smallbore has become quite specialized, one with a design that lends itself to that style of competition would also b...

Re: Wtb a good budget starting 3p Smallbore rifle

In the initial post you mention an Anschutz 5098. What I expect you meant was an Anschutz Model 64 or the later spinoff 1903. (5098 appears to refer to the trigger for a match 64 or 1903) For your price range, $1000 to $1250 you should be able to find a gently used 1903. An earlier suggestion that y...

With regard to the clothing kit: Don't worry about the shoes. Yeah, they are nice but the rules allow for regular athletic training shoes. If you get an athlete that really takes to it and want to buy their own boots, more power to them. You have left out sling, glove and kneeling roll. For precisio...

This does not include absolutely everything regarding the modern standing position but Heinz Reinkemeier does publish some very good instructional videos. Watch it a few times, and it should help get you started.

Opusxc A few bits here: Without a list and pictures of the 'stuff' it is difficult to say if it is 'stuff' people would want. Some things were the thing to have in a particular era and are no longer desirable. Other times, you have things like that Redfield 3200 that in some circles are still sought...

George Brenzovich passed away a few months back so you will need supernatural help to reach him.

https://www.ishootconsulting.com/ handles some G&E stuff so if the above response does not give you your answer, you could try them.

Re: Question about 1600 Anschutz

As for the 'A' on the receiver: Somewhere in a German old folks home is some guy, laughing his butt off, telling a story about randomly stamping the letter 'A' into Match 54 receivers just to keep people guessing. :)

Re: Question about 1600 Anschutz

Hi Opus, Thanks for the props on my comments. I have been at this a few years so a few thing have sunk in. First, regarding a 3200 vs 6400. You have a 3200. scopes_vsml.jpg In the image here, a Redfield 6400 is on top, about 2/3 the length of a Redfield 3200. You mention your father purchased the sc...

Re: Question about 1600 Anschutz

In looking a the rifle overall: I will agree with Tim, I have never seen a Redfield 3200 mounted to the receiver like that. Those mounts are remarkably tall. If you are shooting standing then the distance between the barrel centerline and eyepiece of the scope is probably OK. Even for kneeling where...

Re: Question about 1600 Anschutz

I have a theory about the “A” above the serial number… I wonder if it could be a designation by Anschutz for rifles destined for high school or jrotc shooting programs? I have a few examples that will wreck that theory: Guns I know for a fact were sold to the general public in the US with the A on ...
