I've always walked stiff-legged and flat-footed in my boots to try to extend their life. I have boot-trees to keep them flat, but I still want to minimize curving of the soles. But I don't usually walk anymore than a few steps to grab a piece of gear, so it shouldn't affect me too much. I do think i...

I love Neal. Even if I'm not sure what I need or what I'm talking about, he'll spend lots of time talking with you on the phone. I think I spent over an hour on the phone with him talking about boots and gloves. In the end, he sent me a whole box of boots and gloves, let me pick out the ones I wante...

I shoot Wolf Match Target, or Lapua Standard Plus for practice, and Eley Red for competitions. Someone gave me some purple Eley Sport to try out once. It was at a prone shoot, and I alternated the Eley Sport with the Eley Red every target... the Sport was disappointing, especially compared with Eley...

I need food the day of the match. I get nauseous and lightheaded and blurry-eyed without food. There are a few things I DON'T ever eat before shooting: cereal and milk cream of wheat sugary breakfast foods (pancakes, waffles, Toaster Strudels, etc) If I eat any of those things, my stomach is not hap...

Yep, SocorranThunder is indeed EB! Sorry, I should have actually said who Paul is, and not just dropped his name. He's a great coach, and yeah, he will tell you exactly what he thinks. Especially if he thinks you're doing something stupid or inefficient. But he's got a great sense of humor, so it's ...

Black is only hotter if it's the exterior garment. As an interior garment, it can't absorb photons it doesn't see. And, in fact, black radiates heat better. That's true. I forgot to mention that since I wear mine as an outer layer in prone sometimes, and then put in my canvas shooting pants once I ...

I'm not sure I can tell you anything specific, especially for September...

If you can contact coaches that are involved in a lot of camps, they can usually give you some options. Paul Davis is involved in many clinics and camps.

Underarmour

I bought a pair of tight black underarmour coldgear pants in the spring when it was still cold, but they work just as well in the summer. I'm looking at getting another pair, maybe heatgear. One thing a coach did point out to me is that if you buy black, you'll be hotter in the summer so you might l...
