This is for standing air rifle. I currently adjust my NPA by moving my feet or hand position because I am bottomed out on my butt plate. However, my questions is less about NPA and more about settling on to target. Should the rifle be centered on the bull when I look through the sights, or should it...

Settling Problem

Hello all, I am having a terrible time with my settle. When I try to bring the rifle down on to target, it ends up getting out of control and it will dance around before settling back to a 10. My NPA is pretty consistently high (about 3-5 inches above black) and I bring the rifle straight down, but ...

Question on price and gun question

Hello all, I am thinking of selling my LG300XT Protouch Left-handed and I was wondering how much you think would be a good price for it. It has all of the original parts and is in superb condition. It has only been owned for 2 years and I am the first owner. When it was still for sale, it sold for s...

Add this to the new requirements for coats, pants and boots and we are looking at another few thousand $ in addition to the thousands already spent on stuff, some of which will be worthless on Jan 1. What will be worthless? I can only think of one thing, possibly two (Sauer boots and maybe a jacket...

it might help determine the better shooter before the elimination shooting. Everyone has a bad shot now and then, no one is perfect. by eliminating the lowest shooter, you make it into more of a "luck" match imho.

but doesn't a tuner reduce the vibration of the shot before it leaves the muzzle to keep the movement from deflecting the shot?

Question on the new rules

So, I was just browsing through the new rules, and was wondering if the no vibration reducer includes tuners. Also, does the new underclothing rule mean that we can no longer wear underarmor type clothes?

This is ridiculous! Rifle is meant to be a precision sport, how in the world does "sprinting" a final help show this?! I am sure she will adapt, but how will people like Sonja Pfeilschifter (and those that take as long as her to shoot (like me >.<)) continue to stay on top or do well? Also...

Does anyone still use "rod" weights on smallbore r

Just wondering, do any of y'all still use those "rod" weights (you know, the ones attached to the rail of your rifle via an adjustable rod) on your smallbore rifles for prone and/or 3p? If so, what are the advantages and disadvantages?

On a related topic, I am a J1 shooting around a 568-570, do you think this will be enough to qualify? IDK what JO qualifiers are going to be like considering I have only shot in 1 and only made it in Air.

Air rifle palm rest rules

Hello all, I was designing a palm rest for a smallbore rifle and thought of some good ideas that could transfer over to air rifle. However, while I was reading the ISSF rules, I found that palm rests cannot be used in Air competitions. Don't all air rifles have some sort of palm rest, or something s...

keeping clm in a match

Hello all, I have been having a lot of trouble lately with keeping my temper when I shoot. I seem to always get frustrated at my shots even when my scores aren't that bad. For a visual aid, I am sort of like Sonja Pfielschifter (for those of you watching the international matches) when she shoots a ...

Hello all, I am studying engineering graphics and design in college with the hope of designing competition shooting equipment (basically anything but iris's and crucial components). Has anyone here experimented with making aluminum stocks or butt plate assemblies or other such pieces? Also, how woul...

I am not *too* concerned on the price as i want something good that will help me improve (if price was a huge problem, i probably wouldn't have gotten into this sport as deep as i have ;) ) I have really large hands, like XL large, will this effect anything?

the only discomfort i get is in my wrist because of the way i have had the sling, but i am working on that (or was until my hand stop broke ;) ) Up till now, i was using the standard one that anschutz has (the one that is about an inch tall with no adjustments)
