All of the shooting I did in the past was when I was a junior using whatever gun the club had available. They were older Anschutz models if I remember correctly. I did OK with them - shot around 360 with them (40 shot course). When I went to Murray I was shooting a newer, but still old, model Anschu...

Having a team is certainly a big help, as well as having a coach. When you shoot on a team there is always a little friendly rivalry that helps to keep pushing you. Also, your team mates can help point out what you are doing wrong and right. There is a huge lack of junior teams in this state. My adv...

I have found very little in the way of 3-POS and Air RIfle matches here in KY. I live down towards Bowling Green and while Western KY Univ. hosted a junior rifle match last year, that was the first and only one I have ever seen put on there. The only match I know of is at the Bluegrass Games. There ...

Not sure why it posted my last message as a guest, but oh well. Shooting at the college level is definately something to consider. I shot on a very good Junior team in high school for a couple of years and then actually walked on to one of the best collegiate teams in the US. You will have to have d...

Getting back into air rifle, advice needed

Hello all. I have been out of competitive shooting for about 17 years and have started to think seriously about getting back into it. Air rifle was always my favorite event, although I did shoot 3 position also. Back when I was shooting all of the guns were side cockers, had a standard looking stock...

I use to shoot a right hand FWB 300 (with a stock that was not very conductive to shooting lefty!) and it is easier to cock the gun right handed.
