Which magazine (and lips) for 1911 45 acp wadgun?

I would like to get set up for 2700 bullseye shooting with a 1911 wadcutter gun and red dot sight. I have a Springfield 1911 milspec that will be accurized for competition. I've read about various "lip" designs on magazines. I hope to be shooting a 200 grain SWC bullet (will at least pract...

Just one man's opinion. I wish there was a "red dot" scope that had a "ring" (circle) that was a bit larger in diameter than the black bull. That way, you could treat it as a true "aperature sight" hold. I'm a smallbore rifle shooter that is just starting out in pistol-...

One man's opinion... Before you drop @$200 on custom grips, make your own for about $5. Go to the local drug store, and go the the first aid or foot section. Purchase a roll of foam adhesive tape (the only color I've found it locally is biege). Cut off 1" squares of the foam tape and build your...

Here are a couple of guidelines: 1) If you use 38 special wadcutter loading data, and load the WC in a 357 case, your pressures-for that 38 special powder dosage-will be LOWER in a 357 case. This is because there is more volume in a 357 case. Therefore, you may have to increase the powder charge 0.1...

If you use a sub six hold on both targets, are you adjusting your sights up (going from slow fire to "rapid" fire, since it is a larger black bull) / or down shooting slow fire to rapid fire?

I guess I didn't pick up your sight adjustment strategy-if you are adjusting at all???

UIT centerfire: Where are you holding?

I'm new to shooting in our club's indoor (50 ft) UIT ("international") centerfire winter league. Where are people using for sight pictures/adjustments for the two targets? Six o'clock for slow fire/precision? Same for "rapid" (3 seconds fire time, 7 seconds down/sideways target),...

UltraDot 30 or UltraDot 25 for slide-mounted 1911a1 wad gun?

I want to slide-mount an Ultradot sight on my 45 acp 1911a1 wad gun. Which version is preferred, and more importantly, why? : Ultradot 30 (30mm tube, 4.1 oz, or the Ultrado 25/1 inch tube @ 3.9 oz)? Does the extra weight of the UD30 (4.1 oz) negatively impact gun performance, slide response, lock-up...
