I guess my biggest concern with any glove is the palm. Good padding, and a good firm shell (something like the top-grip) to even out the pressure across the palm area. If I can get that...I'm golden. I'm unfamiliear with the Kurt Thune soft verses hard shell. Maybe someone can help narrow that down....

Shooting Glasses?

I have went back through the past posts here and have found much discussion between the Knobloch and the Champions....

What about the Gehmann or MEC glasses? They both look good too.

Does anyone have some experience they can share as to what is good or bad on any of the brands?

Thanks,

Charles

Glove Question

I have only had one glove (Gehmann fingerless) and was wondering if there were any that are superiour to the Gehmann in the area of the Palm where the rifle rest. The Gehmann is ok and does well, but I recently tried a mitt that I thought would be superior but my hand went numb quick. I want to get ...

Yea! got it clean and adjusted to about the minumum it was designed for. Used electric parts cleaner jet spray...Worked well. After it dried I used lighter fluid as a cleaner and mild Lube. I have a single stage jewel on my BR rimfire rifle. I like it, but after shooting this 5018 trigger I really k...

yea, having to cutt off some stock was what I was worried about. Right now with out any spacers its on the long side of perfect. The trigger shoe is pushed forward though... at the moment and I can bring it back a good 1/4 in and should be nice. Who ever had this gun before had it set to single stag...

Thanks for your feedback.. I'm a newby and like to get as much feedback and experience from others as to try to minimize the frustration. I came across a deal two days ago and picked up an almost new 1813 barreled acion in an 1811 prone stock. No modern butt-plate though and its still not the 1813 s...

Thanks Eric for your reply. I might like the 1813 stock or 1913. I just have not been around any to feel out. I do like my 1813 barreled action and feel I'd be sick if I sold it to re-invest in a total new gun. I've been lingering in the for-sale forum for an 1813 or the similar for some time now. I...

Question for Eric U.

First I appreciate all you insight and experience you share here as I have learned much and appreciate your help to myself and other. I think you have considerable experience with the 1813 barreled action and stocks. I have an 1813 barreled action and 1810 stock. I'm using it to shoot prone. The gun...

Sling Pressure??

I have read several post regarding sling pull, length, outside pull... I seem to have more pressure, pulse, numbness, pain....all of it comeing from the sling cutting right under or on the inside of the wrist bone. I make sure i position the sling across the back of my hand as best as possible... Wh...

occasional bullet drop???

I do, but for the cost difference for our fun matches every week. I can shoot a whole bunch of wolf for what Eley black or Red cost. As far as dropped shots go in smallbore benchrest. I can't say Eley doesn't drop. But I have seen plenty of other shooters who's Eley has. I do have the range record t...

Slow twist..

Its hard to say that its more accurate. But it does offer some advantages. Since I got it two fellow competitors have since bought one. What I do think.... is it does better in the wind. The 2 groves has less drag, thus is less affected by the wind and requires less hold off to compensate. When I go...

I have a Benchmark 2 groove 17 3/4 twist barrel on a 40 action I shoot benchrest with. I had the same concern as you until I got to talk to the gunbuilder that built it. He said to use round nose bullets. So I did and well..... I've won more matches half the matches I shot it. And that's one almost ...

I have heard its batch sensitive??? I shoot it regularly in my BR matches and win more with it than I do the Eley.. Maybe my batch was a good one. I had a similar problem with misfires as you, but with the Eley. Got new springs and no more misfires....I have the 1813.

I have not, but have read much about it. I don't have an opinion, but It seems to be a fluke to one of the best gun builders in Rimfire...(Bill Calfee) You might jump over to Rimfireaccuracy.com and search and ask. Bill hangs out there and is very informative and loves to help folks. Many beleive in...

Just looking for feedback. I'm new to this type shooting. Didn't know if some were designed for certain area's of comfort. I feel the most discomfort from the sling hand and forearm and don't really know why. After about 5 shots its going numb. I feel a lot of pressure on my wrist. I wish I could de...

Show me your handstop!

There are many out there and I would like some feedback as to what people like and why. I don't want to have to buy them all before I find one I like. I know it will be a personal preference, but that will be how people describe them. I didn't like the old style Anschutz stop too well so I bought th...

Fuzzy Sight picture???

I have never been able to get a nice clear sight picture. At first I thought I just had lots of floaters in my eyes, but after some head scratching and hair pulling I discovered rust on the back sides of my adjustable iris. With the iris wide open is too bright so I close it down all the way. The fr...

Hey, BartP Though I'm new to this type of shooting I have been shooting benchrest for some time now. And benchrest is all about accuracy and getting the rifle to recoil the same every single time. Even on a bench the challenge is similar to the prone position. As to your orginal post. The Physics be...
