Are you over-training in you physical training regimen? Are your muscles achy? Are you having difficulty sleeping? These are indications of over-training. You might benefit from a period of reduced training while your body catches up with your training. If you think it might be an over-training issu...

I follow the idea of the correct prescription to read the front sight (my regular prescription for reading is too strong for my computer work--so I know exactly what you are saying). My college degree (BS, Photography) is in photography and I understand the concept of an aperture. The correct point ...

I got Gamo pellet gun oil at Gander Mountain. I would assume that it is OK to use. Am I correct? I also picked up some Crossman Match pellets. Very dirty. My hands got filthy in a hurry. I don't think I'll get them again in the future. How often to clean the bore of the barrel? There is no gun powde...

Height for bullseye
I just built the back stop for my 10 meter pistol basement range. It is adjustable in height in 2" increments. I currently have it set for the bulls eye to be at my eye level. But if there is a specified standard I would rather set it to that height. Does anyone know the specs? Thanks. Packard

From my experience, police only ask if you are carrying any weapons ; they generally do not ask if you are carrying any handguns, or rifles. While an air rifle is not a firearm, I do think it falls in the catagory of weapons. In general I've found that you cannot win in verbal confrontations with th...

The gap has to be filled in NATURAL ANATOMIC perfect fitting. Only very neutral space filling putty, not distorting hand's anatomic shape should be used for support. Card board will push you grip out of line, especially at the back of the grip. OK. I understand. I think though that for testing purp...

Merit aperture
I ordered a Merit aperture. I was thinking that it would be easier to use this if I have a dedicated pair of prescription glasses that I could leave the aperture on rather than having it removeable. I can get my prescrition done on-line (lens and frame) for under $40.00 (for aviator style) or for un...

Grip carving
My IZH46M arrived this afternoon. Not surprisingly the grip it too large for my hands. I have a horrific cold so everytime I breathed deep prior to getting my sight picture I would cough, so shooting will have to be put off for a few days. I have not been able to even get off a single shot. I worked...

Start at 33', as long as you can keep the shots on the paper. You are not really even competitive at the lowest level unless you can keep them all in the black. Scores over 550 and you'll well on your way to Master (AA) class. Most shooters of this type use a hold just below the black (sub six), bu...

I just ordered an IZH 46M and it should arrive on Wednesday or Thursday of this week. I am an experienced pistol shooter (but not airgun shooter), mostly with a target grade Government Model 1911 .45 caliber (Gold Cup). The airgun was ordered so I can get some midweek practice in on a basement range...

Legal indoor range
Where can I find a list that tells me if it is legal to have an indoor shooting range in my home in my state? (I am in Dutchess County, NY.)
I am curious about both air rifle and shooting 22s. I have room for a 50 foot range (80 feet unobstructed).
Regards,
Packard
