I know people probably get tired of hearing this awnser but we cant tell you the awnser of what is right for you. There are a lot of variables that are unique to you. Your arm length for example. If you have short arms you might like a narrower rear sight opening than someone with long arms. With th...

So I got my Range Officer back last night at our indoor league night. I had the gunsmith replace the hammer, grip safety, thumb safety and bushing. He did the necessary trigger job that once again turned out great and milled the rear sight notch to .140. I like a little more light on both sides of t...

The idea of the deep sub six is to get your focus off the bull and on the front sight. Remember the important stuff is happening up here at the front sight not down there at the bull. You can't and don't want to measure the distance you will find your spot, it doesn't have to be perfect it just has ...

Sounds like a combination of low velocity and poor targets. I haven't found any good 4 bull targets. National and American both tear badly if your velocity is low. Try some Edelman's, I know they are more expensive but you can shoot more shots on them and the cut incredibly clean holes. You can orde...

Todd, Nobody can tell you how many shots you should abort but you. The amount isn't important. What is important is recognizing when you need to put the gun down AND THEN DO IT!!! When you feel that it is time you should put the gun down right now. The amount is going to vary with your focus. When y...

I just sent off my Springfield Range Officer. It's brand new and I am replacing all the necessary parts and we are going to try just replacing the bushing and see how it shoots with the original stock barrel shooting Federal Match 230gr. I shot it just enough the other day to sight it in at 50yds wi...

Another thing that might help you also is get yourself to realize that there is nothing important going on down there at the target. All the important stuff is happening back at the firing line. Front sight focus is the Rosetta stone to pistol shooting. What happens down there is a result of what is...

Also at this point in the game as a new shooter you (your conscious self) is trying to control everything, and you cant there is too much to do. As you shoot more and learn to trust your subconscious more as well as your hold and not try to make everything perfect you will find that the shots will s...

I got mine from Champions Choice but you can also get them from Neal Stepp at International Shooters Services. Earl's Repair Service-http://www.carlwalther.com/ is the authorized repair center and was the only one that had the parts to convert my SSP from right to left handed and they sell them also...

Everybody's preference will be different because everybody's hand is different. Personaly I like Rinks and am also left handed. I started out with one on my M41 in XL with the bullseye upsweep and it fit like a glove. Then I bought an XL bullseye for the 1911 off of the classifieds here and it was m...

Dist. Revolver load
We are going to shoot a distinguished revolver match and I have not loaded any 38's for almost 25 years.
What I have here at home is Star 158gr. LRN and either Bullseye or 231 powder.
Anybody have a suggestion for a load to use with these components?
Thanks, Scott

Another thing you might want to try is going to a match and seeing if you can borrow someone's wad gun to try. What I don't think anybody wants to see is you coming out to a match with a gun that just wont cut it and shoot in the 500's while you shoot next to a guy that is shooting in the 850's and ...
