NCSU WVU collegiate match
Saturday for the, first time ever, NC State held a rifle match against WVU in its Reynolds Coliseum venue. WVU of course won but there was an estimated crowd of over 1,800 at the match. Lucas Kozeniesky of NCSU beat Ginny Thrasher by a few tenths in the air rifle finals. For you insomniacs and rifle...

Re: Monard Suit Q's
If you are a male with 3 years to go before college you are still growing and will not be able to use the same suit.
I suggest the starter set and save money. Also Champion Shooters Supply offers suits that they will trade in as you grow. Its a great option for juniors and a serviceable suit.

Re: Problem with USAS
1. Almost without exception shooting web sites, including vendors, clubs, governing bodies, ect. are crap. 2. If you want a match have one yourself and convince your friends at other clubs to do it too. Soon you will have a match every weekend to shoot in somewhere. 3. The state of international pis...

Re: Muscle development
I am not a physical therapist but I have spent enough time in their office I could be. Depending on age and ability to increase muscle mass (for me that is old and low) it seems that low weights with large numbers of sets and reps works best for the relatively small muscles in the shoulder and the f...

Re: Great Indoor Pellet Trap
Holmqer I'm glad to know I'm not the only one. I just think it's irresponsible to fire any projectile at a steel plate set at a 90 degree angle to the projectile's flight. There is a reason that backstops are at a 45 degree angle.

Re: How much do you shoot/practice?
I couldn't disagree more with you guys who say not to think about bad shots. An analysis of shot n-1 is absolutely essential to the mental program for shot n. The first thing you should do after a shot is to call the shot then look at the scope or screen and compare the call to the result. If they a...

Re: Great Indoor Pellet Trap
Norm I have often seen pellets at 10 m come back to the firing line off target carriers or the nails my club used to put together its target frames.

Re: Upgrade Host's Website
You people are kidding about the need for a new web site right? Almost every shooting related web site is bad, but this one is the worst. Full of broken links, obsolete equipment "for sale" ect. Example: click on Home - Rifles - Precision AR, it takes you to a page for Steyr LG 110 which w...

Re: Great Indoor Pellet Trap
Did I miss something? It looks like you have a steel plate perpendicular to the line of pellet flight. Now I know all you guys put each of your shots in the middle of the 10 ring, but sometimes things happen. Wouldn't an errant pellet come straight back at the shooter? I have seen this happen when a...

Re: Olympic rapid fire
Mac you obviously have never heard of Karoly Takacs. My favorite non-rifle Olympian. He was a Hungarian rapid fire pistol shooter who before the war was expected to compete in the '40 ORP event which was of course canceled. In 1938 he lost the use of his right hand in an accident in the Army. In 194...

Re: Upgrade Host's Website
I feel reasonably certain there are competent web developers in Chattanooga about 20 miles away. Also in today's world why do you need close physical proximity to the customer to develop a web site? They can design one in New Delhi over night. All they really need to do it develop a budget, and chec...

Re: why cant women fire 60 shots but can run 42 km
I believe the actual answer goes back a few decades, maybe more. It is my understanding that either an IOC or UIT rule states that in the case of events separated for men and women there must be a difference in the event. Therefore if there is to be women's events, the men and women can't shoot the ...

Re: How much do you shoot/practice?
The bottom line on practice is summed up best by Bill Bradley. Played basketball for Princeton and the Knicks and a US Senator. He said that when he was not practicing, someone, somewhere was and when they met in competition the other guy would win. In other words you can't practice too much. Howeve...

Re: FAS 609 velocity
That's interesting. I have just started shooing air pistol. Age and physical problems have forced me to stop rifle shooting. I have a used Walther that cuts these strange holes that are round on the bottom and tear away on the top. I am using National Target Co. targets I thought this might be a sea...

How old are you dude? Nobody uses tables anymore its all computers. No more searching through the damn CRC book and then interpolating and still getting the wrong answer.

Is that even legal? It looks like it would help the elbow problem but I know it would not pass ISSF and I doubt it would pass NRA.
