American Intl Pistol
I know this sounds like a slam on the American shooters and I don't want it too, but how is it that we can't get anyone in the top 66 in Free Pistol?

I agree with Fred. This doesn't sound like the Neal Stepp I have done business with.

Re: Smallbore Ideas
Red It is true that there are different rules for women in ISSF competitions but in NCAA matches everyone shoots the same rules. Rover Most college teams expect you to bring your own equipment. Budgets on college rifle teams can be small and it can cost $10,000 to outfit an international style rifle...

Re: Shooting with scope
Bob thats right about the locking rings. I once knew a shooter many years ago who didn't tighten the locking ring, I think on a Redfield 3200 and couldn't understand why he was shooting the range up. Also as you said the yardage marks are just a guide. Use them to start the adjustment process and ea...

Re: Winchester 52D -Still Competitive in Smallbore Prone?
52 's are great actions for smallbore prone. The have a much shorter bolt throw than an Anschutz which makes for eaiser loading. One problem might be getting a good trigger. The trigger that is the best with a 52 was made by Karl Kenyon and he sadly passed away a few years ago. I wouldn't try to do ...

Re: Shooting with scope
Dude your pig is singing opera. You did a great job of explaining scope set up. There are several things to chew on mentally in this post. 1. As Dude pointed out when the scope is adjusted properly you have a 2 D picture that your eye automatically focuses on. 2. You should never accept a "wobb...

Re: apertures
My 2c worth is to buy an adjustable if you can afford it, especially for a jr shooter whose needs change as they get better. Also she may want to change sizes for different positions and indoor vs outdoor. An adjustable is really more flexable. Anschutz makes an adjustable app that in adjustable for...

Re: Sling suggestions..........
Ross I suggest you rethink your entire prone position. First, the original poster, Kevin Nevius is a 2 time US National Prone Champion, Eric Uptagraft is an Olympic prone shooter. You should listen and learn from what they say. A now retired former world record holder told me that an adult man could...

David I don,t think you understand. People are not annoyed by your questions. It is just that it is impossible to tell someone how to adjust their rifle without being face to face. The act of shooting an air rifle at a target 10 m away at a 10 ring about 1 mm in diameter is incredibly difficult. The...

Johan no one can tell you where to put your feet in standing on an online forum. Only seeing you in person can a coach help with that. As to NPA, it is of course hyper-critical in standing as in all precision shooting disciplines. The slightest movement of one or both feet makes a large difference i...

I know its kinda late in the game for this but as someone said walking on at UK in rifle is like walking on at UK in basketball. Both teams were No 2 at the NCAA championships this year. My guess is your 4 years at UK on the rifle team would be disappointing. They have 11 returning shooters next yea...
