Re: Steyr LP2 vs EVO10
When I picked up an EVO10 my immediate, split second thought was that the barrel heavy weight reminded me of my IZH 46m and the trigger blade felt like cheap chromed plastic(turns out it was). I bought my LP2 fully aware that the rear sight was not adjustable with the turn of a screw and that it wou...

I think that by the time one attains "international" status, you'll already know the answer is the pistol you're using.

Styer trigger shoe lateral movent fix?
I'm sure I'm not the only one with this issue in that my trigger shoe can be knocked off center of the little rail/post that it fits over and screws onto. Shooting causes no problem but if inadvertently bumped the blade can be knocked off axis. I thought about putting a drop of clear nail polish on ...

"I also use an adjustable aperture on my glasses. This provides a bit more control when my eyes get tired towards the end of a match. I'm 70, and I need all the help I can get..." [/quote] Could you explain this a bit more please: what happens as your eyes tire and do you open or close the...

Re: Simulating nerves in training
If you want to put pressure on yourself you could limit yourself to only half the time allowed. Perhaps more stressful you could post pics/results here for all to see of a practice session.

Re: LP2 ammo
Thank you spektr, I'm glad to learn that. Should one be concerned about that powder lube building up inside a barrel? I just found a tin of h&n's and used them today.

Re: LP2 ammo
You can completely ignore any size other than 4.5 My test target used 4.49 also but there's no reason whatsoever to concern yourself over it. RWS Basics are great, clean pellets at a very economical price. I tried H&N Match lights and my left index and thumb were visibly grey with dust. I used w...

Re: Question for tall AP shooters?
Thank you 1963. Yup, you get it alright. Yes my concern is having to "point downwards" to the target so much with my wrist, more than seems/feels natural as I know hyperflexion can cause injury. If one keeps their head level, not tilted up or down, when you lower the arm you are then looki...

William,

Question for tall AP shooters?
I have come to realize that some of the inconsistencies in my results comes from variations in my sighting process. I am a bit over 6"1". If I hold my pistol level while at "eye level" I get a great view of the aligned front-rear sights, but I'm well about my aiming area. So I ha...

Proprioception exercises for better balance.
Hi all, I just found this multi step video to improve balance and thought it worth sharing with the forum. It reminded me that my wife has some kind of partially inflated, wobbly "balance" disc somewhere in the garage. Hope someone finds it helpful. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZ3sCBdq...

Re: training to minimize wobble?
Thanks for the replies. Fwiw I tried some variations in my stance and found some improvement by keeping my feet right at shoulder with rather than a few inches wider than shoulder width. A few inches wider feels perhaps a little more "natural', hence how I naturally adopted it but pulling my fe...

Re: training to minimize wobble?
My holding drills with 3lb bell are usually 45 seconds, switching L / R I was a cyclist and inline speed skater, and have beed noted to have quite good balance, though it seems skating with one foot held up off the ground is not the same thing as remaining motionless. I train 4 or 5 days a week, dry...

training to minimize wobble?
Are there specific exercises one can work on to decrease one's wobble? I do holding drills and dry fire exercises and I'm sometimes surprised how motionless the front post appears between the rear cutout, but I'm considerably less impressed with the amount of wobble I display. I made a gradual switc...

I'm guessing that if you treat a grip with oil that you might have difficulty adding putty/imitation wood if you should want to mod it at a later date?

Temporary grip mod?
I'll spare you the details but as it is I have a grip on my AP that does not belong to me until my factory replacement arrives. I can't apply Bondo/putty/quikwood so it can be returned undamaged. I'd like to (and will when I get mine) add some material at the back to stretch out my hand a little so ...

Grippy,
In general doing anything repeatedly can cause inflammation, pain and damage. Typing on a computer keyboard is completely non weight bearing but can be the source of considerable pain and long term injury.

Re: Human vs Vice
I was more wondering if a manufacturer shoots and tests from a vice and comes to results of say 535fps gives the most accuracy. But a person holding and firing the same pistol has trouble holding still at such a setting and they actually get better accuracy (from gun and man working together) at 500...
